Selfmade 3 Volts can battery with big power..
« on: May 16, 2007, 05:34:13 AM »
Have a look at this video...

Normally you get maximum about 1 to 1.5 Volts out of such
a unit, how does he get 3 Volts and this lot of power ?
Is this a fake ?
Did he hide 2 normal batteries later in the can ??

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I1-821l1tjY

What do you think ?

Regards, Stefan.

its hard to hide something the way he present it, its maybe possible its just a question of right ingredient proportion no?

Hmm,
maybe he made a cut in the video,
poured the fluid out of the can and did
hide 2 AA battery cells there and put them in series,
so he gets 3 Volts  ?

Stefan , you can  put 2 different metal wires in to an citrone or an apple.

you becomes also  0,7 to 1,5 volts  ( see the  physic lessons  from scolol , to chose the best metalls)
3 volt in AA sizes or also botton cells . are avaiable  as "lithium-cells"

possible  it was " wired  before in the can , and connected "trickly"
by epxerimentator.
GP

3 volt is not "power" , this is only an voltage.

Its totally possible to get 3 volts from an galvanic cell such as this.
All it requires is the right reduction potentials in your metals.

Example:
Li+ + e = Li (E= -3.040V)
Just a half cell of lithium can produce 3 volts

His cell is composed of a copper anode and a steel(?) cathode.
The Sn/Zn can may act as a catalyst of some sort...
Definitely worth checking out if you're interested in galvanic cells.

Walter Hofmann checked it out last weekend
and the best configurations with graphite and magnesium
has got him 1.8 Volts, but never 3 Volts..

Okay, maybe if he used a Lithium wire and a graphite
wire, then it would give 3 Volts, but I guess
pure Lithium is so aggressive, it would already oxidize and
burn up in the air, right ?

Not so bad when in dry air, but as soon as lithium touches water it spontaniously begins to chemically burn. The more I look at this the more scammy it seems. I wonder if this from the same guy who did "candle battery". Why are people wasting their time faking excess energy?

i think , he have faked this
but 2 aa carbon cells (2 x 1,5 volt in the can bfore
pr an lithiumvell , most habe 3,0 volts as CR2032  and more types
