My noob idea (theory)
« on: March 15, 2007, 06:28:21 PM »
Hello @all , good to see a site with aloth of resources.

When i was a kid we went to a power reactor ( a big dynamo running on steam).
And since then i couldnt get it out of my mind that it was imposseble to let someting rotate and build enough energy for a district.

So in my mind ( no real physical) i never really stopped thinking abouth it.
Yesterday i was sitting in the garden and was looking ot my wife's bicycle.
'Inside' the front wheel is made a dynamo to power the front light,  wich i think is already ingeneous.
However i was thinking of how much power it would cost to add a generator as a backwheel ,and how much "weight" is required to spin the pedals.
Assuming a human could spin it for a while and considering his weight is around 70 kilo grams.
So i thought of instead of using 2 human legs ( lol) use 2 heavy iron bars and put them on the pedals.
Ofcourse not much go happen , however what i ask myself is this.
If i put the bars vertical to each pedal and let it go... how far will the second bar wil move upwards , and how many power go be required to push it over the edge?
I cant get out of my mind to achieve with a less power input a bigger result.
Anyway.. i recently started a company  ( what have nothing to do with this) and have this itching to use some income of it to a project to generate free energy.
well.. everyone wo is on this site wants that lol...
Anyway.. i keep looking and thinking and saving.. and once i achieve... i will inform you.
 ;)

yes.. i was already aware of that ,  and was also my question.
However , as how i see it ( domino effect) it require a little hit to let it spin again.
he idea of the magnet is to give the extra push to lift it up again.
On top it require a little push to let it fall down again.
Actualy it simulates this 0 point.
We will see lol.. atleast it is fun.

The problem is just that this little extra push requires as much energy as the little energy you can get out of it. Considering the loss in bearings, hysteresis in the iron, air resistant etc, your wifes bicycle will eventually make it to rest. And then you have to ask your wife to do the work - which is always very unpopular... :)
