Can't find anything about Nanosolar actually selling their panels...
All I can find is a way to tell them you are a company interested in
playing dealer for them... And I can't find a list of dealers anywhere
either...
It seems to me they are very much in the planning phase still.
Same with those other thin film solar cell companies,
none of them seems to actually have anything for sale yet,
they're all just shouting how great they are but there's nothing
you can really get from them yet.
And those that do give some price estimates come up with prices
that, as Capthook calculated, are only profitable over the long run
of half a century or more. That's just not really exciting, is it?

So I sigined up, but elsewhere it tells who did all the buying. US Dept of energy, the US military, and the largest power producer in the US. The entire inventory for the next twelve months.

The US taxpayer's dollars at work buying up the inventory so that the US taxpayer won't benefit. Sounds like typical greed at work.

I have emailled Konaraka many times and didnt receive any information.  All they have on the site is small time stuff.  Can you throw us a bone and supply some details??

If you are talking about cost efficient energy in general...you will not like the answer.  I pay 5 cents per 1,000 watthours here in the US and over 80% of our electricity here is produced by burning coal.  This is why it is hard to compete for other alternative energy sources...this is a very low price when you figure it.

Bill         ***EDIT  Correction, I just checked my bill, we have had 2 huge rate increases this year I forgot about.  I am now paying 9.5 cents per kilowatt hour.   If they would allow more nuclear plants, this price would drop again. ***EDIT

Nuclear plants or horrible man completely and utterly there is no jobs created really... Other then construction contract labor nuclear is like ethanol you invest tell the city or town its going to create more jobs then once running it creates a whole 15 new jobs whoopdy doo!

And its worse then that because meltdowns will occur in nearly every plant at some time or another because they continue to run until something bad happens it seems to me this comment is not based off any facts just assumption but I will tell you it is worthless energy generation that is very very toxic! The threat is a real thing and it pollutes for thousands of years causing many problems and defects in any living thing. Not worth the savings you cannot put a price on life or quality of.

Never allow another nuclear plant to go up it is out right murder forget abortion this is mass murder for thousands of years you will kill everyone and everything...

Nanosolar will not be a viable solution for a couple years....
Scratch you ass until then or jump in heartiberlin's thread he started about DIY I think it is possible for the DIY to produce solar at home very cheap!!! The only thing we need is a common goal which we have but we all have to contribute hands on and if we do this we can make high efficiency cells at home for little cost!!! Yep I ain't bullshitting you with coils or magnets or perpetual motion .... This is a proven technology that works and we can make it more efficient together and anyone can make them it don't take a degree or lots of brain power or even time for that matter we can increase the efficiency of home made cells with simple tests at little cost!

Do you wanna join me ? Or are you to busy making coils and perpetual motion machines?

Please do not look at this post and walk away you are simply extending the period which it will take to find the solution.
