Title: free torch from magnetic lag
Post by: gaby de wilde on January 28, 2007, 02:02:35 AM
I salved the mystery of free energy from magnets.  :D

2 bar magnets:

move 2 north poles together and they repel

move 1 north pole to a south pole together and they attract

AND

move 1 north pole towards the center of the other bar.

That north pole is now attracted and repelled at the same time so there is a total of zero force applied to it.

but the other magnet turns around it's axle!

- Sean kept hinting the attractive field took longer to establish if the magnet moved faster.

- If you rush one magnet passed another barely anything happens. Move it slowly and it will attract and get stuck to it.

So there is a speed on which you can get torch without any force applied to the primary wheelworks.

Where have we seen this before?

Hi Gaby:

I assume that you meant torque, not torch ;).

Your Idea is quite intriguing and seems easy to put to test.  I have 40 30x30x10 mm ceramic magnets of about 2500 gauss each, but I have problems to build an enough  strong rotor to hold them, I've been trying embedding them in styrofoam, but it shatters quite easily.

I'll try with som cd's instead and see what happens.

Regards.

Interesting Gaby.

Would be good to see the axles to get a better idea. I take it all the four outside wheels turn at exactly the same time? if so then figuring out a mechanism to do this is the next step.

Regards

Sean.

Quickest way but perhaps dirty, would be 3 universal joints, so that all stator wheels are linked together, or right angled pinions at each corner, or if you have 4 stepper motors..LOL

Hi Gaby

You need no force to bring a permanent magnet near to another one as you described it, but now what?
You have to turn 90? the mobile magnet in order to oppose one of its poles to the fixed magnet. Then the mobile magnet would be repelled, we could get energy for free and go on again for a new cycle.
But you seem to have forgotten that you need work to turn the magnet against the opposing magnetic torque that exert the magnets to one another. And I guess this work will be equal to the work done by the mobile magnet moving away...

o ghee, shame on me I forgot all about my own topic.

 :-X

I'm even cross posting now.... the embarrassment.....

While repulsion is equal to attraction the torque should still be the combination of both.

by moving through the field fast the primary magnet should not suffer the full drag (pull) as it's being pushed at the same time. It's not 100/100 but 100/80 should be enough as we only have to "pay" 20% while we gain 180%.

Here are my illustrations anyway:
