Problem with floor's twist drive
« on: August 14, 2022, 02:16:57 AM »
I had a promblem with reseting

https://overunity.com/14311/work-from-2-magnets-19-output-2/msg563518/#msg563518

Problem was with resetting Floor's twist drive machine.

Floor gave me a solution to it.

THE TWIST DRIVE IS A LITTLE MORE COMPLICATED THAN THAT
TD (Twist Drive). SL is the sliding component and RO is the rotating component.
At around 4.5 degrees SL worth of distance of the SL magnet from the RO magnet, the force
needed to complete the actions / finish lifting RO, has decreased to less than zero grams.
From 4.5 degrees until zero degrees SL, the SL magnet is in an attraction toward the RO
magnet.  The gap closes the last 4.5 degrees by itself while the RO magnet continues to rotate
and lift the RO weight object and   NO   SL weight object is present.
In example, during the 115g x 40 deg. upon RO and 105g x 22 deg. upon SL test set.
                                   @    3TD undeniable - video Dailymotion
The SL weight object only needs to fall from 22 degree until 4.5 degrees (17.5 degrees worth
of travel) in order to lift the RO weight object.  The force to distance curve runs from 105g
at 22 degrees SL  to   zero g at 4.5 degrees SL.  Then, from 4.6 degrees SL until zero degrees SL,
the SL input force is negative.  The SL gap, self closes under the influence of the magnetic
forces present, at from 4.5 degrees SL until zero degrees SL.  There is a force to distance curve
present there, in which the magnetic force upon SL is increasing as the gap closes from 4.5
degrees SL to zero degrees SL and RO completes its rotation to the 90 degrees off from parallel
to SL.  Repeat... The SL gap closes and the RO lifts 115g without any weight upon the SL pulley
at from 4.5 degrees SL until zero degrees SL.
                                                 next....
When a mechanical force is applied     directly     to the SL unit in the direction which
opens the SL gap from zero degrees until 4.5 degrees, while simultaneously the RO weight
object is FALLING away from its 90 degrees worth of distance...
                                                   The
work done is      exactly equal to    the work done while magnetic forces are closing that
4.5 degree SL gap to zero while simultaneously LIFTING the RO weight and the RO magnet
is approaching 90 degrees off from SL.
                                                  But..
When a mechanical force is applied   instead, EXCLUSIVELY to the RO unit in the
direction toward 40 degrees RO / toward parallel to SL and simultaneously SL is sliding from
zero degrees toward 4.5 degrees SL (reset)...
                                                   The
work done is GREATER THAN  the work that would be done, when force is ALSO applied
directly to SL in order to / while SL is being opened.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
                                                          Again...
The work done by magnetic forces upon SL, as the closing of SL from 4 to zero degrees SL,
will be / is            exactly equal        to the work done in opening the SL gap from  zero to 4
degrees by an application of force           along that sliding      SL  vector.   The work effort
will be greater when force is instead applied exclusively to RO.

There is a force to distance curve present as SL is directly pushed away from RO.  The force is
greatest while SL is at zero degrees SL (60 g*1) and is decreasing until 4.5  degrees SL is reached.
The work done there to separate SL from RO, is less than 60 g x 4.5 degrees of travel (<270).
                                                          Then...
At from 4.5 degrees SL until 22 degrees SL, magnetic forces are pushing the SL away from
RO as RO is completing its rotation to its maximal 40 degrees of rotation.

*1-- In those TD measurement sets wherein RO lifted 115 g while SL is pushed by 105 g.

The Twist Drive (TD) does not reset at its maximum efficiency, when reset is accomplished
by the sole means of a work input upon the RO unit.  A solution is given here in, below.
In example, during the 115g x 40 deg. upon RO and 105g x 22 deg. upon SL, test set.
                                    @ 3TD undeniable - video Dailymotion
From 22 SL until 4.5 units of distance SL      (SL is the sliding component)
85 grams of force average x 17.5 distance units = 1487 work units as SL input.

From 4.5 SL until zero units of distance SL
A negative <60g of force average x 4.5 distance units (= <270 negative work units) via
an SL magnetic force attraction toward RO. Free, except that later it must be undone.

From zero RO until 40 units of distance RO    (RO is the rotating component)
115 grams constant force as weight x 40 distance units = 4600 work units as RO output.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
When the TD reset to start, is accomplished via a force applied solely to the RO (115g to return it from zero deg. to 40 deg. RO), 115g force is insufficient while SL is at from the zero to 4.5 degrees SL and NO weight hangs upon the SL. More work input is required than if simultaneously, work is also done directly upon SL toward separating SL from RO.  In that case, 115g upon RO (from zero deg. SL until 4.5 deg. SL), then becomes sufficient.  See the below...
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
Please note that (written below) the 60g refers to the force required to initiate the separation of
SL from RO while RO is at 90 degrees off from parallel to SL and there is no weight object
hanging upon the SL weight pulley.  That 60g as force, drops to zero grams, as SL moves
to 4.5 units of distance from RO. This is because the distance between RO and SL is increasing,
but also because, when 115g is hanging upon RO, the RO rotates toward parallel, simultaneously
to the SL motion.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
From 4.5 degrees until zero degrees there exists an attracting magnetic force upon SL, of < 60g x
4.5 degrees as 4.5 units of gap distance is CLOSED.
During reversed conditions or reset, zero to 4.5 units of gap distance is OPENED.
WHEN that work as <60g x 4.5 distance units (<270 work units)  is done
                                                           to, OR DIRECTLY UPON SL
that work is equal to the work which initially closed the gap.
These two actions are equal and opposite.
... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ...
1487 work units + (<270 work units to later, separate SL from RO) = 1757 work units SL input.
115g x 40 distance units                                                             = 4600 work units RO output.
4600 work units RO out / 1757 work units SL in                       = 2.618
A work units out  to work units in ratio of 2.618 to 1.
An average force applied directly upon  SL,  of 75 % of 60g (45g), at from zero degrees SL
until 4.5 degrees SL (202.5 units of work) in order to undo the SL to RO attraction, more nearly represents the actual work input required there.
1487 work units + 202.5 work units                     =  1689.5 work units in.
115g x 40 distance units                                        = 4600 work units out.
4600 work units RO out / 1689 work units SL in = 2.723
                    A work units out to work units in ratio of  2.723 to 1.   > 2 x O.U.
