One new aspect of the war in Russia I saw coming many years ago was the rise of smart weapons.

Now were seeing one person on the ground wipe out multiple tanks, personnel carriers or aircraft. One person with a mobile weapon can discharge the weapon at $70,000 a pop doing millions of dollars of damage. The Russian ground forces are literally sitting ducks and they have no protection.

Were also seeing the rise of the drones able to pin point all enemy locations and movements with cheap drones. Locating then obliterating ground forces and heavy equipment with relatively cheap mobile weapons. So while this dark ages mentality of heavy equipment and greater numbers may have worked 50 years ago today it is outdated and a liability.

In the near future no people will even be involved. Fleets of hunt and kill fully autonomous weaponized drones will be sent out from a distant location and destroy all the soldiers and equipment with ease. They will never know what hit them and there's literally nothing they can do about it.

So these fleets of archaic weapons such as tanks, artillery, personnel carriers and silly little soldiers running around with guns are soon to be a thing of the past. It's almost absurd when considering the technology we already have. It's simply a matter of applying the technology and if other countries want to start doing stupid stuff like were seeing someone will apply the technology.

I give it ten years and all the weaponry we see Russia using today will be pointless. This is not a good thing but very bad because corporations will probably own and operate most of these new weapons. This in itself should be reason for concern...

The drones aren't cheap. When Russia occupied Crimea, college students created a group to go after Russia using drones.
When the convoy on its way to Kyiv stalled, that was their work. They do more than fly drones, they also write computer
programs. The Ukrainian defense ministry made them a part of the military when the military saw what they did.
It does take an investment and as defensive weapons go, they might help other countries to understand how to avoid
aggression from a superior power. This could prevent superior countries from deciding to take matters into their own hands.

The drones aren't cheap...
Compared to Javelins or NLAWs, they are cheap. Some high end consumer products should be able to carry half a pound of shaped charge which, steered into a driven wheel/axle of a tank, should render it incapable of manoeuvring. A bit like the Bismarck. Dealing with the s/w is most important. As supplied, there is often a "return to base" facility which needs disabling and the frequencies chosen need dealing with.

But if there is a good supply, why aren't they being used to deal with the field guns?

I think for the most part it is a group of about 30 people. When the group started, they paid for everything out of pocket. What people might wonder is if they are able to train more people.
It is like when they stalled the 40 mile long caravan going to Kiev, they road quads at night while wearing night vision goggles. Then they were close enough to launch their drone attack.
It won't be surprising if such tactics become more common but then patrols might be sent out to look for drone operators. Then it becomes a game of cat and mouse.

Aerorozvidka seem to be very imaginative and creative people. There are two very senior US people in Kyiv now, Secs Blinken and Austin. They should be made aware of this group's success and they will fund them fully. This is very good value for money for the US taxpayer.

They are showing what it means to fight for one's country. I do wonder if a part of their success is because they are educated. They can understand what
risks they are taking. It's not often that educated people teach the military how to defend one's own country. Considering their education and how they're
putting it to use, that shows patriotism.

But, judging from current news reports, it would seem that they do not have enough product to deal with the continuing Russian attacks.

Most likely no one thought they could take on an army. There is a difference between defending or stopping an enemy and trying to
win a defended position. This is a totally new warfare not previously observed.
With Russia, I posted about the Vikings and how that applies to current history. That aspect of history will never change. It is how
government and commerce supports people that matters.

  With Putin,
He's not losing. If 10,000 teenagers die, Putin hasn't. He's over 70. Dead teenagers don't make it to 20.
That is what this war is about. It is Logan's Run. 30 is just a fictional number created by the American government.

Logan's Run is a fictional movie. You have to die before you are 30.  With the Russian invasion of Ukraine, could
you live in a Russian society that adapts itself to cooler weather?

And, of course, Syria, along with Afghanistan, from which Putin has learned nothing.

I picture you as a dreamer with great potential, so let it be.

Futuristic sci-fi, set in a 23rd century post-apocalyptic society, where overpopulation
has been controlled is not yet here, and not yet a problem.
22,400 young Russians died in two months of Russian war against Ukraine.
The  younger version of the Hitler is making the same mistakes.
but Hitler made Germany, strong, powerful, technologically advanced,
wealthy, educated, growing in GDP..
Before he lost it all,

And you can look at them today... The beauty and strength of Germany now.

1917 horde of uneducated partially illiterate, crowd members, killed the Czar king of Russia
his wife, his children, his servants, the families and children of servants, the families of related

In 1933 Stalin prolonged killing of educated, middle-class, scientists, and whoever else he could.
Estimated up to ~40 millions till after end of world war two.
one small example: https://www.theguardian.com/world/2022/mar/02/exposing-stalin-famine-in-ukraine-muggeridge-1933
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Purge
Typical to Russians all that time was that:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Katyn_massacre

In 1990 the Soviet Union collapsed and country spread into several freed and now Western world oriented countries.
Those countries became more than wealthy and advanced they gained freedom from Russians.
Example:
Poland the sweet candy a beauty.

Vladimir Putin, changed Russia from poverty and isolation to to its modern form of more poverty, corruption, dictatorship, and isolation assisted by terror.
The official value of one dollar's about 78 rubles, but you lucky if you buy dollar on black market anywhere between 300 to 900 rubles per one.
Average lower-class Russian pension is about 14,000 rubles= $28 per month
it is if we take average : that 500 rubles equals now ~around one dollar

With the Russian invasion of Ukraine, could
you live in a Russian society that adapts itself to cooler weather?
survival skills are barely used and American Eskimos still prefer Alaska instead of Florida.
It is lack of education causing lack of opportunities, and centuries of some kind of comfort, in harsh conditions.
