Yes, that video I posted is from Doug.Long ago. Romero UK worked with coils that had PMs on the back of them, and Doug replicated. Magnets on the cores is ONE way to reduce or eliminate Lenz. That may have been one of the "secrets" that disappeared with Romero.

My reed switch locked up and I took it out and put a NEW one back with a different orientation, and now my amp draw increases when I add the magnets, so the positioning of the reed switch or TIMING definitely has something to do with whether or not the magnets do their job. Now I've got to adjust it and figure out what is the optimal placement.
