Spin Launcher at the summit of Chimborazo.
« on: November 18, 2021, 06:38:09 PM »
Coupled with Geo Thermal climate control, a cliff side cavern could house a Spin Launcer above the snow line at 20,000 feet. The eliminaaion of air drag at sea level would allow the operator to replace the second stage rocket and propellant with cargo.

There are other equatorial high altitude sites to choose from like Mt. Kilimanjaro in Kenya Africa. Snow mining coupled with geothermal power could hydrolize the liquid and pressure fill cargo tanks for spinlaunch into orbit from the high altitude. The rockets can release their gas in orbit and glide home to Earth for reuse. This combination would profit from precious liquid water for the Orbital Reef. A hot bath would be pleasant in Outerspace along with a seafood menu.

The mountains are taller at the equator because the Earth bulges at the perimeter from its spin. Ten top choices appear but Chimborazo stands alone as a choice for a variety of reasons. The eruption cycle produces enough steady steam to power its own hydrolysis and compression for the steady launch of liquid hydrogen to space. Elon Musk just inaugurated the concept of a Space Factory. Chimborazo can act as a Fountain Head for both Musk´s Space Factory and Bezo´s Orbital Reef. I propose to negotiate a partenership with President Guillermo Lasso of Ecuador for the launch site priivliges.

They all have big dreams but when you git right down to the facts, man was not meant to be in or work in space. There must be gravity for this design of body to work. The trip to Mars for instance, will not be kind to any aboard. By the time they get there, the damage will have been done and they will not be able to do much if any physical work.
Just look at all the peeps that come back from the ISS that have been there long. Useless at best. Bed ridden most of the time.

Exactly right. That's why Nuclear Propulsion coupled with  3.5 million kilograms of Hydrogen fuel will cut the trip to Mars down to 86 days. Chemical rockets would require twice the fuel.

The equation below proves that Hydrogen is the best Nuclear Rocket fuel!

This kind of Nuclear Thermal rocket fueled by enough liquid hydrogen can beat everything else to Mars.

The Spin Launch vehicle would need to be larger and outfitted with a discharge to orbital reservoir coupling. The vehicle would also need to glide home for refueling and relaunch.

At -252.87°C and 1.013 bar, liquid hydrogen has a density of close to 71 kg/m3 .

The trip time to Mars would be inversely proportional to the kilograms of Liquid Hydrogen available in orbit for the Nuclear Thermal rocket motor. The more Liquid Hydrogen launched to Space, the shorter the trip time to Mars. Two weeks of travel time would be achievable! Fueled by the power from Chinbrazo!

The best approach would be to send uniform propellant tanks through the inside of the Spin Launcher Throw Arm and eject them repeater style, then collect and feed the Nuclear Thermal Mars Rocket from a magazine. This would involve a one way trip for the propellant tanks. We can cut the trip time from 9 months to a fortnight.

200 kg of Hydrogen would require 3 cubic meters of Rocket volume.

The Government of Ecuador has identified a geothermal site on the NNW slope of the Straro Volcano that they offer for development!

35 degree angle of attack.  Out of sight behind a Ridgeline! We are looking at the area below the snow line between the summit and the geo thermal plant. The geo thermal plant is at 4000 meters. A landing strip would be needed in adjacency to the launch site. The snow is missing from the north side of the volcano because it is south of the Equator.

A piezo sensitive carbon fiber heat shield sleeve that spins on a cushion of air inside the vaccum chamber over the rocket hull could add lift by raising a cyclo rotor wing edge on one side.

Piezo carbon fiber heat shield Magnus wing rocket skins can be 3d rolled like Rocket Lab. The skin would spin up inside the vaccum chamber and an electrical circuit would raise a wing edge to generate Cyclo rotor lift upon release.

Shape morphing carbon fiber. An electrical current can morph a rotating heat shield into a cycloidal wing.
