DC motor generator

Using brushed Electric motors as electric generators :

All you need is a large flywheel, I used a 10 kg disc weight. To generate some voltage you need high speed and the flywheel is suitable.

In fact, in a brushed electric motor, no conversion needs to be done. Just spin the shaft and it generates DC voltage/current.

It might come as a surprise to some readers, but there is absolutely no need for any conversion, for while many DC motors are operating as motors, THEY ARE AT THE VERY SAME TIME ACTING AS GENERATORS while their conductors in their armatures are cutting the magnetic field. This is all explained by the relations Force = BI(length) while Volts = Bl(velocity) which are both occurring at the same time in any DC motor.

You can test dferent type of Dc brushed electric motors
In this test I used C9050-6003, you can find it inside printers.
