fs4590:
i stacked 6 air coils on top of each others, each coil have about 5 mh, all connected in series, when i pass a magnet throw the coils ( not on top of stack of coils ) , i get a reading on my multi-meter of an average of 20v ,but when i connect a 24 ohms resistor as a load ,the voltage drops to near zero .
can anyone tell me why the voltage is disappearing ?

Hi, how fast is the magnet moving? I * R = V I'm thinking the magnet is not moving fast enough. Then you have to consider the I squared R loss of the copper coils.
