add an electromagnet between the top magnet and the wheel. Zap that magnet to counter the cogging of the closes rotor magnet and the cycle repeats. The top permanent magnet will do all the work (oh shit did I mention a PM and work in the same sentence...). Electromagnet can be zapped with energy that was collected from a sister wheel on the same shaft that has magnets going past coils.

Hi, I like your idea. Are you planning to build test? I started to build and combined the three above projects. If the gravity and magnet configuration does not work, I will the solenoid. Cheers

Well I have these ideas written in my black notebook :) My idea was to put the rotor magnets in ying yang form, but a singular spiral could work better. Then you need just one pulse per revolution

I got the magnets, shafts, bearings and wheels and they are all in a box in my garage. I will build it at some point

oh and I made magnetic bearings so the shaft floats in the air. Also use a reed switch for the DC jolt to the electromagnet. It will self regulate to what ever speed. Make the electromagnet from ferrite and make a coil around it.

The PM will turn the wheel and when the closest magnet is near the PM you put DC into the electromagnet to block the PM and repel the last rotor magnet. Then you are back at the first magnet and a new revolution begins

Rubber wheels are easy to drill into or acrylic. Drill holes that go deeper and deeper. Then glue round magnets into the holes and you got your rotor. Even half a tun of magnets will do, because it takes off really fast and easily turn full rotation even with few magnets

Hi, this is another example using a electromagnet with a high voltage pulse, it may help. What diameter magnet wheel are planning to use?

Hi, this is another example using a electromagnet with a high voltage pulse, it may help. What diameter magnet wheel are planning to use?

Watched the video. Oh man. I am trying to remove obstacles like friction to prove a concept and everybody else is using 1000kg devices?!? Could steal the pulse mechanism from the video though ;)

I think the size depends on the magnets really. What ever is needed to get enough electricity from the secondary wheel so it can be used as a pulse to repulse the last rotor magnet. That means the secondary wheel has to be large enough for the speed needed to get enough flux change. Larger wheel == more speed on the wheel edge == faster rate of change in magnetic field == more induced current

That wheel will also work as a fly wheel to assist passing the last magnet.

Also I think at some point the wheel may be too big. So the idea is to find the ratio where you can just pass the last magnet. This might also mean that I need to use mechanical aid to start the device. After initial mechanical aid the flywheel + electromagnet would be enough to turn the device

the most important thing is to build it and not just fantasize about it like I do. Then you will see if there is anything there or you just had a brain fart
