Hi Wesley,

Appears to be an interesting device.

Possibly a good candidate for a Comsol Multiphysics analysis - easy enough to model in Solidworks 
and Comsol has a giant library of magnetic materials with parameterization capabilities. 

Comsol does an excellent job on nearly every variey of electric motor, including permanent magnet
types, so a detailed technical review of this device should be somewhat straight forward.

Many aspects of the device under discussion were also investigated by Andrei Anatolyevich MELNICHENKO who discovered and developed similar technology. He holds a number of patents on his inventions dating back to 2002.

Note the gap seperation to form, what he refers to, as the "special structure of the magnetic field, or so called secondary magnetic field." A study of his patents may also reveal a method of "steering" the magnetic flux field.

Where are they? I don't see any plan at this address but a statement: "I am ready to announce plans for the coming year" on a page dating from 2007! The photos show a satisfied guy behind a "free energy" device that is plugged into the mains  ::).
How can this be taken seriously? I see only useless obsolete content, crazy stories and fuzzy theoretical deliriums without the least operational concept.

Andrei Anatolyevich MELNICHENKO is talented Russian who competed with
Tariel Kapanadze.Tariel complained about  Melnichenko to me.
So definitely  Melnichenko was close, very close.
However article mentioned by Solar Lab is unsustainable  gibberish using words and delivering nothing.
but that is my opinion.
Melnichenko had his good time like  every artist  does "once in his life time"
Credibility of most of such guys is measured based on performance vs money  asking habit.
Nothing  wrong with that, but it raises  suspicion, especially if given person  is from the country  where everything looks like fake when compared to reality.
(the system, the constitution. And the moral ,social,intellectual, human rights,area is consequently raped.)
Talking about performance.
Melnichenko  has number of patents - Russian patents from Russian Patent office.(where  everything can be achieved by  use of  bribe)(- my personal opinion expressed)
Since the beginning of 2006 there  was  already ~13 years. And nothing is out.
(With  sufficient amount of money they can  even produce patent with back date, for anything you want  stating that it was e.g military technology  withhold from public view)

This is my concept for closing the magnetic path.
Why to change the path you can simply turn it on, activate.

Ferrite core or even the coil itself closes the flow of the stream by connecting the top and bottom together. If you have a ferrite it must be far enough away not to connect the rings and activated only when the voltage is turned on. In the case of the coil itself it does not matter.

More of Melnichenko's "unsustainable  gibberish using words and delivering nothing" following an old
and proven "ROPES" method of presentation - that is; when presenting an idea, or any subject, one
good technique is the sequential use of - Review, Overview, Presentation, Examination, and Summmary.

Generally it makes things easier to understand initially, and helps in comprehending the subject as it
grows more complex. But hey, that's just MHO. Can be one of those useful "rules of thumb" however!
