Let me put it this way: If a FE researcher thinks »I have it«, then how the chances are that he spends time to add a music soundtrack and also fancy graphics to his video instead of drawing and showing a circuit diagram and explaining his device?

To me, music tracks on FE videos are always an explicit sign for fakery.

Now need to go to India or Pakistan for tricks, there are plenty doing the rounds at home in our own country's if you only look!

Here is what I saw in the demo, this is a resonant tank with a step down / Step up transformer arrangement, the capacitors are AC and he uses the AC Line to charge the capacitors and the LC arrangement for resonating the voltage at the line frequency. The demo shows the initial voltage at 230VAC and when he completes his demo the display shows 120V so the tank was draining thus no OU here

Dear All.

If one takes the video at " face value " the connecting of the electric motor dims the lightbulb, something I personally haven't seen in many of these devices.

If it were connected to the " grid " via some " X " wire, that dimming wouldn't show.

Perhaps he's cracked the Daniel McFarland Cook enigma ?

With a couple of 12 0 12 to 240 volt transformers this particular video demonstration shouldn't be too difficult to debunk IMO.

Cheers Graham.

Well I meant India is famous for leading in tricks. Like the kid, climbing up a rope, or the levitating yogi, with his hand, resting on a stick only (that has a steelframe with seat attached, hidden under cloth)

Dimming light is easy when you connect something in series.

The arrangement is rather typical: salvaged parts, looking impressive, but doesn't make much sense. Two MOTs, connected over a 12V PC fan.

Reminds me of the guy with two microwave oven fan shaded pole ac motors, driving eachother over a rubberband...

Well maybe I'm wrong and it's the real deal. But I would't try to analyze this cable salade.

Dear dieter.

Indeed....... but he didn't connect the motor in series, did he ?   ;)

Cheers Graham.

@Starcruiser,

thanks for the diagram. Did you see L1+L2 in the Vid? What is the purpose of the fan?

Also, aren't they MOTs? That would be 1:5, stepdown from 240 to 48 ac, rectified maybe 65 dc, for the 12v fan?

@Graham, I have no idea what has been connected, as he twisted wires like a magicien handles poker cards. I think I remember the vid was cut several times tho.

@Dieter, In the video he soldered this across the small cap, is was a torrid style coil, he did this for each leg.

It was 4 large AC capacitors and 4 smaller ones with a small inductor (torrid) across 2 of them. See below pix.

the Video showed the fan with several diodes (hard to make out) that looked to be a full wave bridge setup. and went across the 2 outer wires. See pix of Fan Diodes below

The transformer was center tapped so I inferred it was perhaps an 18vac secondary? maybe a 12Vac?

The video showed a small volt meter that was at 230 at the start and was down to around 120 ish near the end of the video before he killed it. See pix of voltmeter start and end volts.

Really need to work out the transformers inductance and calculate the required capacitance to get a 50 or 60hz resonance, as the transformers are optimized for the line rate of the power company.

As far as the fan goes, not really sure perhaps a load to keep the voltage in check? I am not sure they are MOT's to be honest

They looked like MOTs to me, but MOTs have no center tap, just a ~3 turn strange coil between primary and secondary, also the secindary 1200 vac output is connected to the core at one end of the coil.
However in a country using 120vac grid, the 120 to 1200vac MOT could be used reversely: 120 to 12 vac. EDIT on second look they may not be MOTs, even tho almost as big as MOTs, but with uncommon plastic bobbins.

A lot of guessing there.

MIOT's ;)  look again they have been re wound, and you need at least 36v Volts to do that sort of thing with resonance, now find out what size the caps are to alter the phase.
