Al-tape capacitor-coil a la Wesley?
« on: November 18, 2016, 06:31:26 PM »
I was at the hardware store today and bought two rolls of Al-tape and scotch tape.
I figure most of you have already seen Wesleys video on yt or have had other experience with this, so that is why i wanted to ask you guys about this cap-coil, and would like to share their insights with us others that are interested in replicating this?

I have measured out 5 meters of Al-tape, and I'm going to insulate the shiny side with transparent scotchtape, and then wind it onto a former with 5 wire caduceus winding.

What do you guys think of this?  Waste of time, or could it be something there?

/F.

I wrote a long reply post yesterday and the computer just quit on me, and i just didn´t bother to write it all again then.

But what i wrote in the post was that i am not 100% sure what it really does, but i think it is a sort of pick up coil or something.
I say in Wesleys/stivep1´s videos on youtube that they had great success with it, but it is a little bit hard to organize the info in his videos, and hard to sometimes hear what he say.

I wonder if the coil cap is used instead of the pickup windings they have on the caduceus windings, as some sort of variation, or if it supposed to be wound beneath the outer windings

I just assumed that it was something that all of you already had seen, and tried. Maybe you have.
