I crushed a neo magnet and heated it so it was powerized and did not find any magnetic
restriction/blockage. Is that a valid experiment?

Well the idea I think is to provide an opposing (similar) field so it will bend the field away. There is no magnetism after enough heating :(

Bismuth could do it and is easy to mold

As I understand it, the whole point of Terfenol-D is that, when it is magnetised, it expands. and for this property, it is phenomenally expensive. how does this property help this project?

Bismuth has attraction so I doubt it helps. What I understand it does is concentrates
the flux like concentrated flux but not real shielding like the mu metal that is on the
hard drive neo magnets.

Am I wrong?
