The Musings of Smudge [Cyril Smith
« on: October 01, 2016, 11:40:52 AM »
Here it is hoped some Of Smudges work can be shared and discussed for all to ponder, Not certain this is the best spot to post this particular musing
however it is a moderated section so hopefully the discussions will be relevant .

Introduction
Graham Gunderson exhibited his “Magnetic Implosion Transformer” at the 2016 Energy
Conference. This device apparently delivered more power out than was supplied. Gunderson
admitted that he did not know why this was so, he had discovered the effect by accident while
experimenting. He did demonstrate waveforms pertaining to input and output, along with a
computed waveform of the flux through the secondary. The input waveform was of a special form
and the transformer output was converted to DC using synchronous rectification that effectively
produced a very short interrupt during which the flux changed sharply. This paper presents an
effect that could explain why Gunderson's device gave those results. Because of its importance in
offering means for extracting energy from ferromagnetic material it has been given the special name
“The Gunderson-Smith Effect”.
A significant feature of the transformer is the rapid change of flux during the secondary interrupt
period. This suggested two avenues of enquiry, one being the possibility that energy could be
stored in the compression of the mylar film situated between the two core halves, and that mass
inertia might play its part in slowing down the change in compression when the flux changes value.
During the slow flux change between secondary interrupts the compression would follow the flux,
but in the fast flux change period the core faces would not move hence creating an imbalance
between the magnetic energy and the stored compression energy. After exploring this in some
detail it has been found that this imbalance does not lead to over-unity.
The second possibility relates to the frequency response of the core material where its permeability
can have different values for different rates-of-change of flux. This is much more rewarding and
the following sections explore this in more detail.

The third and the simplest explanation is the magnetic induction at higher frequency, in other words magnetic induction do not diminish the source which created magnetic flux, one pulse of magnetic field can induce infinite current pulses in correct assembly.
I know it is against the current state of laws but I think the output of magnetic induction is the equal and opposite energy to the input energy if the Lenz law is used properly ( energy is taken from external force field). Every generator from the origin works that way.

It was also described in Utkin document. Look for the magnetic induction when core permeability is manipulated at 90 degrees. I have constructed similar device many years ago but was unsuccessful to make it work properly because I was not experienced in disruptive discharge. I may post detailed explanation someday  but I'm sure Smudge will find it soon. It is very easy anyway - just a almost not inductive winding applied properly to proper ferrite core which create a nanoseconds big current pulses when capacitor discharge is flowing through it. The normal winding at slow frequency is so disrupted many times per period creating magnetic flux pulses not visible to the power source.

The capacitor equivalent would be a capacitor charged to say 10V. Now we (magically) remove  half of the capacitanceve . The voltage now doubles  to keep Q*C constant. The stored energy 0.5CV^2 has increased by 100%.  The inductor equivalent by Smudge is the same but uses currents instead. The word magic was used because in real life the capacitance is halved by separating the plates by more distance  requiring work from the person, the extra energy we get in the cap.
Should Grahams device really give extra energy it must also cool down the core as the extra energy must come from there as the inductance changes.
As usual, the scientific method requires replication, otherwise this one will also bite the dust  :( :(

The fourth explanation almost never considered is the the Weber Force and the two cores separated by the dielectric (mylar) constitute two plates of a virtual capacitor. As Pomodoro implied... one moment it's there and in another it's not.

Allcanadian,
After too many years I found your idea about THE bearing and I have very little to say beside BRILLIANT.

I apologize for this off topic digression but your recorded presence online is rather scarce. As you put it,
one moment it's there and in another it's not.

So I had to take publicly the opportunity...

Bravo.

Thank you barbosi, I hope you and others find it useful. The last prototype is now collecting dust under my bench and the last run was with a 20 lb rotor spun up to around 3000 RPM. It freewheeled for days and I finally got bored watching it so I stuck it under the bench.

It was disclosed with no string attached open source for all to use.

@Barbosi

To expand on my post.

The true value of any given device such as my magnetic bearing is in understanding the "concept". I create two very large forces which cancel one another perfectly and most everyone concluded the sum of forces must always be zero therefore it has no value. However that is not what my concept implies, far from it, it implies two forces may cancel one another perfectly and in doing so create a third force which becomes an independent force. The third force cannot translate back to the forces which created it thus the load has become truly independent in itself.

This is a universal concept, we see two charges with opposite polarities come together and negate each other at which point their external field ceases to exist. We see a magnet with two opposite polarities and when they come together and negate each other the external field ceases to exist. My concept implies perhaps we should use three, a trinity of unions, two negating their own existence to produce a third resultant force independent from all others.
Three pairs, six unions, nine forces changing in time...

You see the value is not in the fact I invented a 99.99% passive magnetic bearing now collecting dust under my bench but in understanding the universal concepts I used to create it. My bearing is just an object and the fact it is collecting dust indicates it's value to me but the concepts I learned... I carry with me in everything I do.

Philosophy, curiosity, concepts, understanding then application is the way forward my friends.

I think this is an excellent thread for commenting on, especially as Smudge has presented so much hard data on the special properties of those FERRITES, and this is where I want to focus - on the particular point that I see as vital - that these ferrites have a peak in their Permeability around 5 MHz! - This happens to be the same frequency range that was used in the mysterious German ALPHA-THETA devices that I presented some photo-copies of here last year, and which are connected with the work of Hans KOHLER - I will attach these copies again here for comparative clarification, and to refresh our memories. After staring that these documents about the Alpha-Theta devices and doing some digging, I found that there was NOTHING else out there on the net about them, and probably still isn’t, but I did find out that the Krupp company made this same MnZn  ferrite decades ago (Koerex 300-R) which also happens to be pulsed in these diagrams with the same frequency of 5MHz! - obviously with some optimum effect! I also found a reference in the works of an older writer Brailsford that confirms the same fact that specific MnZn ferrites have a peak permeability at this frequency, which Smudge has more or less coroborated, and which is refreshing to see. I will now stop being wordy and just the attached photocopies speak for themselves - - - but please remember that these 3 documents are ALL the info I have on them/it.
