Comparing current from solar panels {Question}
« on: August 22, 2016, 04:56:07 AM »
If I had a 5 watt, 10 watt,20 watt, 30 watt, and 50 watt solar panel sitting outside on a non cloudy day pointing at the sun what ""CURRENT"" would I expect to see from each panel??   Each panel putting out 12 volts.

5 watt panel at 12v=.41 amps
10 watts panel at 12 volts=.83 amps
20 watt panel at 12 volts=1.66 amps
30 watt panel at 12 volts=2.5 amps
50 watt panel at 12 volt=4.16 amps

That assuming that the panels are exactly as rated,and there is exactly 12 volts across them when loaded.

If I was to keep a 12 volt 12 amper hour battery charged and at the same time keep a 12 volt .30 amp miniature fan working day and night which
panel would meet the MINIMUM  requirements to do this job  As I understand the 12 amp hour battery can keep this particular fan running a very long time by itself.
