Forgive me if this has been posted elsewhere (I did look) but these new washing machines seem to offer a really great cheap way to build a pulse motor or generator. I see people owning L&G washing machines complaining about rotor replacement - which involves a huge motor with plenty of nice outward facing poles - suitable for recycling.
