Title: Use the Raspberry Pi as a variable frequency PWM and Signal generator?
Post by: antimony on June 29, 2016, 03:52:42 PM
I didnt know where to put this thread, so i just placed it here.  Feel free to transfer it to the right place.

I just wanted to ask if anyone here uses the Raspberry Pi?
I have two of them that i dont really use anymore, but i thought that i was going to make use of them.
I have been wanting to make a variable frequency PWM circuit, but i dont have the necassary components right now so i thought that it wouldnt be impossible to make the RasPi control it?  But i havent seen anybody done just that anywhere.
Have you?

And also, is it possible to make the Raspberry Pi into a half decent signal or frequency generator?

Thanks in advance.

Hello antimony

A quick search yielded a video series on youtube (might take a while) hope it helps.

I have searched and it seems like it can be done, but I have been thinking about maybe using my old unused desktop pc for this kind of stuff.
I have searched a bit for signal generating software that you can run from your pc, and it seems like something worth trying until I get the funding to buy the equipment I need.

Thanks for your feedback.  /Fredrik.
