The Basical pendulum Generator

May be the more basical gravity device is the well know but not considered pendulum, this is the first basical and mechanical free energy device get power from gravity can be builded and I build too many years ago looking at the end of 1988 some toys like pendulums move for many time and used a little battery, looking battery energy versus gravity energy of the moving toy I see there is a big energy amplification
   The classic pendulum if we hung and release from a certain angle it begins to oscillate following the know equation

          T = 2*pi*SQRT(L / g )

 L the lengh of the pendulum and T the period

 We see for each oscillation cycle a decay of energy caused for friction in the axis and so later of a determined time the pendulum get the equilibrium for that friction losses and stop in his vertical end position
 But if we see, that friction losses for each cycle or at the start first cycles are very little in comparison to the initial gravity energy gived for the angle we release the pendulum, if the axis is well lubricated friction losses may be less than 5% of the start gravity energy, that start energy is calculated as

 U = M*g*L*( 1 - Cos(x) )

M the mass of the mobile element, and x the angle view from vertical

 if we can inject for each oscillation cycle of the pendulum the little energy we need for compensate the friction losses we have the pendulum in constant permanent moving, if we think in 5% of losses of minimal for cycle then the COP star aprox of 20
 In that conditions power output is gived for the energy U developed in a fourth of cycle, then power becomes

 P = 4 * U / T , replacing before expressions we have


 P = 2*M*g*( 1 - Cos(x) ) / pi * SQRT( g *L )


 I we put values here, for example, L = 1,6 mts , M = 40 Kg, x = 90 degrees we compute

 P = 1 KW and the oscillation is at 23 rpm


 For return the energy losses to the pendulum I use an electromagnet located in the ground vertical to the pendulum axis powered for the start with a 12 V battery and so when the metalic mobile element of the pendulum is aproaching to de  x = 0 degress the electromagnet is activated and atract to the mobile element adding the energy for compensate the friction losses, I see the best feedback method is the electromagnet here like that pendulum toys use too little electromagnets because there is not mechanical contact
 However the oscillating movement is not easy for put a generator in the axis of the pendulum because all generators need a continuous rotatory spin and not changes of spin at a gived rate and that need a resource like the sea wave generators transform lineal moving in complete circle movement at the same spin or connecting rod - crank method, then a belt feeder to another wheel of less diameter for multiply the low rpm of the pendulum and get the desired power at the desired rpm in an electrical generator
 Once the attached generator get his normal output power we can feed back the process for power the electromagnet and disconnect the external starting source
 Is very funny build this because start inmediatly, is single , not water or very complicated arrangements for the feedback, low cost and can be placed in any place and we can get easy 5 KW, 10 KW and a practical maximal of 100 KW limited for the weight and size

 I build the firsts units for 3 KW and 5 KW

 I suggest this project type for a beginner give his firsts steps in free energy machinnes because a pendulum may be the more basical mechanical setup for build

 Then I follow with a more performance in this pendulum for get more power, reduce the size and get more low costs and it was change the oscillating movement to a continous circular spin, that is say launch and release the pendulum for X = 180 degress in any direction, in that condition the pendulum transform in a basical gravity wheel, and so is not necessary the complex adapter for transform the alternating spin to a constant spin system for the same feedback in the electromagnet the mobile element go in fast increment of his speed and raise his power output too fast, that increment becomes from gravity as a external agent add more and more power to the pendulum axis, power level up to the level we wants and then we must brake the system, if we don't brake the system go in self destruction because power level up to the design, resistances go down, I brake with the same electromagnet control at inverse operation, looking for a formula here is not single because power go increasing and is not in concordance with the lasts equations, in this mode of the pendulum in operation like a gravity wheel we start the design for a low power design but can support other more high power level and speed, for example I start with

M = 10 Kg, L = 75 cm

 And I adjust the electromagnet for sustain the single pendulum movement in that low power, then I launch for X= 180 degrees and the pendulum begins to accelerate in gravity wheel mode and power output go rising when it reaches about 3 KW I begin to brake the system with the adecuate control pulses to the electromagnet, in that condition power output becomes

 P = M*g*L * w

 That is a avereage value and w is about 382 rpm, then for couple to an electric generator I need a multiplier as before
 This is the best performance version for this single pendulum system and here power levels can be too much high for a more little pendulum, megawatts of one unit is possible
 In both cases if there is not closed loop operation for feedback to the electromagnet the pendulum device can be powered from a external source and in that case is an energy amplifier need only the energy for compansate the friction losses in the axis and an output power is the gravity as fuel

 This is the basis and there is many other variations more structured , for example wheels with a excess of mass in his border and can oscillate like a pendulum is the same concept

 For the best operation I suggest orientation East-West for little perturbations with the rotation of the Earth

This will not work. any energy you extract FROM the pendulum, must be replaced INTO the pendulum to keep it in operation.
you cna change the energy from one form to the next and back again, but you will have losses from the conversion, and friction, heat, ect.

We have seen this done in Milkovich's machines, and those of Bill Mehess.  While pendulums are one of the most energy efficient machines mankind has invented, i think there must be something additional added into this system before we can obtain overunity from it.  The action of the pendulum seems powerful, with very little energy input - but you must remember what gravity gives in on the way down, it takes away on the way up, leaving you with whatever you started with. It must go up to go back down again - Therefore: any lost energy (including that used to drive a generator)must be replaced to continue the cycle.
