Polymagnets North and South poles on same surface

I had never heard of these.  What this company (skip to 2:15 in the video) does is print multiple poles of N and S
on the same side of a neo mag.  They can make any design required.  This limits the range of the field to prevent it bothering
other devices but, think about this...same poles on the same face/surface of a strong neo mag?

This has to be good for something else maybe too?

Bill

Remember these flexible flat sheet magnets?

The last time I looked (many years ago now) they were magnetized in stripes, maybe ten stripes of alternating polarity across the business-card sized sheet. I think they are magnetized using something like a big tape recording head.

Same company as this one?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=drD416THU7Y

Put a small neo on a ferrite magnet N to N or S to S and you can draw your own designs on the ferrite mag. I'm guessing this printing method is similar.

Can you reprint the neos with other designs like you can ferrite or is it a one shot deal due to how much stronger neos are?

I wonder why they did it that way?  Seems a bit more complicated than just your normal N/S...unless...it was actually faster (cheaper) to make them this way?

Stronger since the north and south are closer to each other?

Could be, I don't know.  I don't see how but, that does not mean anything.

This is new ? I don't think so, take a look at Prof John Searle device, the SEG http://www.johnsearlstory.com/
It uses cylinder magnets with a sine wave encoding on the cylinder and that's 50 years ago.
