Updated Forum software
« on: October 21, 2006, 08:22:02 AM »
Hi All,
I just updated the forum software
with the latest patches and updates and
also changed the advertisement, so there should
now not be any loading problems anymore.

If you need to advertise your product over here to the more
than 3600 members, please send me an email
and I will reserve you an ad space on this forum.

Many thanks.

Regards, Stefan. (moderator)

the ads should be in english. i think you would get more sales etc. just my opinion. im sure most of the members are english speaking people. just my two cents.

Okay, I have disabled the banners at the right side
for now,
but I will again have something at theright side,
when I will install the Portal software.

With 3600 members and a lot of traffic I have to generate
some revenue from the website, so I can concentrate
some more on this all.
You must understand this.

Otherwise I could also do a membership fees
based website and pay the users, who do experiments
some money from the membership fees.
That would be the other option.

I don?t think a donation based website only without ads
will get any donations at all to pay the hosting and
the time to do the administration.

Regards, Stefan.

Hallo Stefan,

Hi Norbert and all,
I answer in German and english.

I just also changed the number of postings per page again,
as many people complanied about only having 5 postings per page,
so I doubled it now to 10 postings per page, thus the thread pages have now halfed
in all topics.

I could also install now 20 postings per page, as the new ad mod allows
the variable integration of ads every n-th postings...
Should I do this ? Or are 10 postings per page okay ?

Regards/ Gruss, Stefan.

@FeeEnergy
This is too complicated to host here and also
too sensible to implement.

I would rather go into installing an optional  membership
fee based site.
The normal user still can surf the site for free,
but all people, who want to see the latest experiments
right from the last days, must get paying members.
Just a small fee, like 5 US$ per month or something like
this, like a subscription to a magazine...

Then these payments will go into a big "bowl"
and some parts will be used to pay active experimenters
for their hard work.
So these experimenters would benefit from the work they are
doing and the community will get fresh new test results and
faster exploration of the subjects.

It has to be agreed on then how much payment for
what research work is paid out, for instance
via PayPal, Moneybooker or E-Gold
or simular electronic cash systems.

There would be a minimum of documentation work
also to be done for the done experiments...

This is my future view, how such a forum could
get supported .

I still need to checkout the membership plugin mods,
which are not yet stable, so this will be a project for 2007
as I still have other work to do this year.

Regards, Stefan.

DAMN, $5 at 3000+ users, that would be $15,000 a month, LOL!!!, I wouldn't stay to see that, for I would want a cut. A fee based site wouldn't work, hehe.

lol :)

Well,
imagine,
if I just keep 500 US$ per month and pay 500 US$ to charity and
pay out 14.000 US$ for experimenters like you for new articles,
how fast we could move on !

Hi Stefan,

If things get a little much here then you could always create your own free Google Groups forum. For example I created the following forum just to see what the admin management was like -->

http://groups.google.com/group/energymover

how about a one time membership fee? all $$$ goes to website/projects/you.

i am sure you will always have new members wanting to join. maybe it could be this way.

Well, this year all remains free.

I will try to optimize the features of the forum and
will try to make the ads as much as noninterfering as
possible and only add ads, that are also beneficial
and good offers to the members and ontopic as much
as possible.

Also the main part of the forum will always be free.

In the next year I might add some special members only
sections, which could be donation sponsored
or paid via membership fees...we will see,
but maybe until then we have the solid state free energy
device and all will move into just a
rebuilders and marketing site... we will see...

Regards, Stefan.

Sound web sites offer a fee to get rid of the ads. That might help.
