Counterwound star-challis coil and Hall effect Switch Circuit
« on: November 13, 2015, 05:39:46 AM »
Hello friends, earthbound here.

I have recently wound the 24 point Counterwound star-challis coil design by Charles Michael Powers viewed on Youtube.
My request for help comes from those of you who have experience wiring a Hall effect switch to pulse a diametrically
magnetized ring/cylinder magnet on a metallic shaft with coils of this type.
Using merely a 12 volt dc wall type transformer wakes up a 3/4" neodymium sphere magnet inside the coil when it is connected to the
mains side of the coil. Haven't needed to try the trigger part yet. And since I don't know enough about the circuitry for the Hall effect switch
there has been no pulsed spinning of the sphere magnet as I have seen demonstrated on Youtube multiple times by various posters.

I have seen several circuits that actually do not show coils.
Also my Hall effect switch is prewired purchased off Ebay from China; so is the 100 ohm (or 10k ohm) resistor even needed between
the output and the positive side as seen in some designs?

Here is the link on Ebay:

I am open to any suggestion that will aid me in growing.

TY,
earthbound
