Title: SMOT ball on steel Track

This experiment as it is may not be of any use because the steel ball will not fall down from the steel track. But if the steel track is completed in a required or pre-disigned shape, then the ball may complete its revolution on the track due to the kinetic energy gained.   As you can see, ball is moving with considerable speed on steel track.   For this you should have the magnet in same shape as the track and movement of ball has to be decided by magnets angle with the track.

Hi Vineet, Get rid of that big clump of magnets and the steel ball.
Use a ring magnet on its' edge ,so it can roll, place it at the low end of the track.
You will notice as you bring the magnet closer to the track ,that the magnet will be drawn in and will travel up the incline a little bit.
That's where you should start.

The idea of using a stell ball on steel track is to prevent the ball from jumping and sticking to the magnet.  As you can see from the video, even when I touch the ball with magnet stack, it is not sticking to the magnet.
 
If you use ring magnet, when it comes closer to the driving magnet will it not jump from the track and stick to the driving magnet?
