Chris
Maybe someone's already mentioned this but fwiw...
Considering Spin Theory, if we get 2 spin waves travelling toward each other along oppositely wound coils on a shared same core, are we not going to get a standing wave where they meet?

It would seem to me that if we put a pickup coil at this particular point where the standing wave manifests, we can draw excess energy from the standing wave without taking anything away from what's being produced in the individual sets of windings. In this sense, we would effectively have a cop>1, would we not?
Bob

Edit: Just noticed a little bit of Spin Theory chat above - no time to read, back to work. Hope I didn't duplicate what's already been said.

Hi Bob,

Yes we should see a Standing Wave!

I believe this is entirely a Matter Wave, or a De Broglie Wave, but I need to do some more investigation here.

There is, I believe a Propagation Delay, this is the reason we see a "Movement", as its a Traveling Standing Wave in Space.

No, none is covered above.

Hey Brad - Yes happy to discuss, its a valid and sensible topic.

When you say:

Havent I already done this?

Paramagnetic:
Possessing Un-Paired Electrons (E-) - In attraction to an external Magnetic Field - Spin +1/2 (Low Energy State)

Diamagnetic:
Lacking Un-Paired Electrons (E-) - In repulsion to an external Magnetic Field - Spin -1/2 (High Energy State)

The actual Charge Value of the Electrons depend on:
1: The Element in the Periodic Table
2: The Orbital of that Electron
3: The state of the Electron

E.G:

Tungsten (Paramagnetic), 74 Electrons, 6 different States.

Bismuth (Diamagnetic), 83 Electrons, 6 different States.

However, the Formal Charge:

I see lots of room for inaccuracy's for anyone wanting to measure and count the Charges in the Atomic Structures.

I see that the spin states and other factors define the Magnetic property of the Material Element.

I see that many Elements are bound to Electron States and can only change is an external force is applied.

I could go on, but I should ask you, what have you found?

The picture on the left is the very same as the picture on the right--there is no difference between the two.

Really PW ?.

If they are the same, then how is one aligned with the magnetic field, and one is not?-the electron that is.

Brad

The images were meant to depict how the up/down alignment of an electron's spin determines the direction of its magnetic moment and, therefore, whether it will repel away from or attract to an externally applied magnetic field of a given polarity.

If you must, imagine them as PM's (one pointing up and one pointing down) and when placed next to a third PM, one will repel and the other attract.

Tinman,

I read back thru this thread a bit and now understand your problem...

In a post a page back or so, you said:
Quote

Lets try paramagnetic electrons, and diamagnetic electrons.
What is the difference between the two?.

There are no "paramagnetic" or "diamagnetic" electrons.

Paramagnetism or diamagnetism is the property of a particular element (or compound), not of a particular electron.

An externally applied magnetic field will cause various alignments of an atom's various magnetic moments such that in the end, those alignments (moments) add up in a manner that is either attracted to or repelled away from the applied field.

In most substances, para and dia magnetism is relatively weak.  However, there are some notable exceptions.

Tinman,

You seemed to hint that you have a "magnetism as a charge" theory (or related to charge).

Care to expand on that a bit?

The point is very simple.
To define what the magnetic force is. Once we know this, then the door is open to a new world.
As i said,to many are only interested in how they can use the magnetic field, and very few are on a quest to define what it is.

We start by finding what can produce the same effect against paramagnetic and diamagnetic Atom's as the magnetic field dose-perhaps a charge of sort's?.

Quote from EMJ-So Diamegnetic Objects have spin in the other direction, Spin Down, this is the High Energy State.

If we take the diagram on the left, and we use a 3 dimensional flip,we see that the two are exactly the same-there is no spin up or down, but one in the same.
