Today I am posting a first article in what I hope will become a series about "re-thinking politics". By that I mean the following: we are told that communism is dead. I am not so sure at all, but maybe. I would argue that what we think of as "European social-democracy" has died this year after a long and painful agony. The US is only a republic or a democracy in name, in reality it is a fascist oligarchy. Chavez in Venezuela spoke of "Bolivarian Socialism". Arundhati Roy in India seems to think that democracy is dead and that Maoist guerrillas might have the answer to a lot of questions. One thing is sure, Fukuyama got in wrong and history has not ended (unless some crazy idiot in the White House launches an attack on Russia then yes, history will end).
I will never forget the day in 1992 or 1993 when during a session of the UN Conference on Disarmament a Pakistani Ambassador said something which I shall remember forever. He looked at the western delegations and said: "you think that your capitalism has defeated communism? You are wrong! What really happened is the internal contradictions of communism have caught up with communism before the internal contradictions of capitalism will catch up with capitalism". Twenty years later it is pretty undeniable that he was absolutely correct. And no wonder that this realization first came from a Muslim as Islam today clearly offers at least two alternatives to all western ideologies: in Saudi Arabia a medieval and deeply reactionary one and in Iran a modern and very progressive one.
I think that it is high time to re-think our politics, our political categories, our certitudes about what is worse and what is better and all our assumptions about recent history. Most of us live in the so-called "West" and what thing is undeniable: our social order is dying, totally discredited and despised by the rest of the planet, our politicians simply seem unable to articulate anything remotely connected to the truth, and the world badly, badly, needs new ideas.
With this series "Rethinking Politics" I want to start with a tabula rasa in which we can re-examine it all and try to see if we can at least identify a few facts or ideas which would help us to think outside the iron "box" imposed on us all by our stupidifying societies. They key will not be finding the right answers, but asking the right questions.
This series begins today with Andreja Vrazalic asking a few very basic and important questions about what socialism is (which, of course, depends on who you ask). I am very happy with this first contribution and my gratitude goes to Vrazalic for launching what I hope will be a long and productive discussion involving many more contributions from very different authors with very different views.

The larger imbalance faced by US citizens – and citizens of the West generally – is that governments generally have too much power and authority. Too much money flows into government and too much government activism is the result.

The true danger to the republic right now is an executive establishment that, under the past two presidents, has taken on itself the role of deciding where and whether to make war, has made a mockery of constitutional and statutory restraints on surveillance, and has first conducted and then persistently concealed a shocking campaign of torture. The problem is not that Obama is better or George W. Bush was worse—what is striking instead is the continuity between administrations on these matters.
This last paragraph certainly provides us with certain credible points. Much of what seems to be illegal or unlawful these days is never challenged by those with the authority to do so.
Most of the complaining about constitutional problems is therefore just that – complaining. The more difficult and dangerous work of moving beyond rhetoric and into action is less apparent.
This article attributes the lack of confrontation to laziness and opportunism. Fixing problems is a lot harder than talking about them or more cynically running against them. But we'll present another theory that has nothing to do with laziness or cynical political calculation. In our view, a lot of the cravenness of current political actors has to do with fear.

I can't say that any research is required to understand that when people start doing stupid things because they have ignored the facts then bad things tend to happen.
For example, if your well was going dry you could pray to an imaginary deity hoping it gets better or find out what the actual problem is. Unfortunately most in the past chose to pray as society degenerated, as food and water became scarce and sickness spread over the land causing death. The people who managed to survive were the ones who recognized the insanity and moved as far away from it as possible.
It would be better if you applied some common sense based on tangible facts rather than unproven hearsay. The fact is you can't eat or drink politics or religion nor does it offer any shelter.

I would have to agree and it will probably take hundreds of years to evolve beyond our present belief systems. We used to have thousands of gods and now only a few so were making progress. My feeling is that if there were "gods" they may have been advanced beings or alien. Which creates problems when both the atheists and the theists seem to show a great deal of intolerance towards my beliefs. Many speak of tolerance when it serves there interests but seldom practice it from what I have seen. I simply say openly what many others say behind closed doors.
I mean no disrespect or offense and call it as I see it based on my objective reality and research. If there is one thing I think we can all agree on is that our beliefs have always been changing in the past and will continue to change in the future. Therefore almost nothing we believe today may be true one or two thousand years from now.
Which begs the question, if everything must change with time and becomes less or untrue in the future then how can it be completely true today?. Do you see the paradox?, nothing we believe today is true... we just don't know it yet. :)

In another thread Nelson Rocha mentioned that his computer was hacked, data was stolen and accounts deleted.
This is common as well as the persons internet traffic being monitored. I think most people like myself would like to think this is just paranoia however it is true. We think how can this be, they wouldn't do that however many corporate and government agencies have already admitted they do it.
For this reason I keep everything of real value off any computers with an internet connection. I also keep notes to a minimum and the rest in my head.
The fact is as much as some like to say nobody out there cares about FE it seems many would do anything to get it to serve there own interests and it is proven by there own actions.
Obviously people are not monitored, hacked, threatened and gaslighted because nobody cares, lol.

1. The reason I made or rather implied a claim was to have someone question it. Not judge me but debate the claim and the technology like rational adults. However rather than debate FE on it's merits the trolls would rather point fingers and judge. Have you ever wondered why so few want to talk about where the energy comes from, how it can be transformed and how it manifests in any given device?.
2. Of course many already have the technology, how could they not?. However the powers that be found that just putting a bullet in someone's head or poisoning them was drawing too much attention so they hired people to spread disinformation and gaslight the FE inventors. They also have business people approaching every FE inventor who gets too close and gag them with contracts and non-disclosure agreements.
It's kind of strange isn't it?, I make a claim and nobody has the common sense to ask... where does the energy come from, how can we transform it and how does it manifest within a relatively simple circuit in a more practical form we can use?. These are the only questions on my mind and any baggage or psychotic behavior an inventor may have is really none of my business. Tell me something I don't know, help me move forward and make progress, it's not rocket science but apparently few want to talk about it because they find it a little disturbing with respect to there beliefs.
