magnetic generator motors

apparently I am not brainy enough to use this site. ?Wanted to know if anyone thought of taking a conventional radial aircraft engine with a complete electrical system and replacing the pistons and cylinder heads with magnets. ?If the theory seems to work, make a block and cylinders specifically for this app. out of say ceramics, making the cylinders and pistons a long shallow rectangular shape for ease of shaping magnets and also to enlarge them for more power....... is anyone following the basic idea here?

A bit about the magnetic induction module for the engine. Rotor means cores. The number of modules required to provide relay switching is not critical. The diameter of the rotor does not matter.

In animation, only the principle. At rest, the magnetic flux is blocked. If necessary, pull out the core of the rotor, turn on the coils and break the flow. The flow of electromagnets and a permanent magnet is folded and attracted to the core of the rotor. After disconnecting the coils, the magnetic flux closes inside the magnetic circuit. Releases the rotor core. Simultaneously, it induces EMF in a magnetic field. This is the first project. To work fully, you need a special frame and control circuit.

Thanks, very interesting. I am also working on a fluxpath switching generator, but instead of blocking coils I am using rotating PMs. The can redirect the fluxpath, even over large airgaps.


With all these devices, you have to care about whether Lenz law will rain the parade, or won't. For instance, current flow due to increasing fieldstrength in the pickup coil core turns the coil in a repelling electromagnet, which delays the fluxpath from switching fully to this path. Decreasing fieldstrength attracts the source, which delays the fluxpath from switching away from this path (working against the blocking coil).


However, a smart arrangement can prevent this.
