Title: My Oct 30, 2006 Tilt Motor Discovery
Post by: NathanCoppedge on August 01, 2014, 05:02:35 PM
I have one model which I have found very difficult to build. It involves eight lightweight levers that pass through one another, allowing each to move independently. The levers are positioned with the earlier ends underneath a circular track that swivels shallowly, but is fixed against rotation. On the track is positioned a single rolling cone or 'rolling pin' which is designed to trigger the levers successively. Since all that is necessary is a significant difference from level, it is my belief that the rolling cone or rolling pin can maintain a slope behind its movement, much in the way of certain popular cartoons, in which the road is shaken behind someone, creating a ripple effect.

The diagrams for the device are publicly available at: http://www.nathancoppedge.com/Perpetual_Motion_TiltMotor_Diagrams.html (http://www.nathancoppedge.com/Perpetual_Motion_TiltMotor_Diagrams.html)

The design was based on an epiphany with a coffee cup at Koffee cafe in New Haven, CT.

A similar, cruder principle is present in my video in which a bar slopes the wheel ahead of the swinging ball, at:

I also think I time-traveled to the morning of the same day, and repeated the event, but that is another matter.
