I have many years in designing engines that run on air, this is just some of my designs:

One good thing about compress air is:

1) The energy you put in, is always store better then any battery.

2) Heat can increase pressure, as well as cold will decrease it also.

3) Low pressure air pumps can be used as wind pump turbine to store the wind in tank.

4) my submersible engine use 5psi at higher cfm to generate lots of hp in oceans or lakes. as the waves move up/down the floats generates low air pressure that is force  pressure 10ft under water to a displacement system. As this unit is force upward it creates mechanical work. Wind turbine can also be added to pump system.

Hi Chet,

Look up Terry Miller air can in the 80's, interesting project also.


 I have a small basic machine shop in my back yard.

40"x7" metal lathe
15" lathe/mill
7" metal lathe
Sherline cnc
welders
metal cutting
plasma cutter
20 ton press
drill presses
and other types of tools.

This does not count for the electronics equipment also.

I would say 50K+ in tools

Have a beer, I will rather buy a tool......

I will load all the video on Terry Miller air car, it's about 35minutes long and does show the car running.

I would like to also add, I was employed to work on a version of this engine turning a generator a few years ago.

I know how this works, it's a 4 stage piston engine that starts out with 1",2",3" and 4" pistons.
This allows all the compress air to be use at each stage.

No, it's not.

The Bourke engine uses a single Scotch yoke and has horizontally-opposed pistons but beyond that it is a standard 2-stroke ICE. The DoubleScotch uses a second Scotch yoke to drive the spool valve, it works on externally supplied air or steam pressure and runs at very low differential pressures. The Scotch yoke itself is much older than the original Bourke patent engine.
