Title: Simple Adams Motor Experiments - Hoptoad
Post by: hoptoad on May 25, 2014, 08:32:06 AM
For a number of years I had some information posted on spare room on my sons website (totallyamped.net) regarding Adams motors and pulsed systems in general.

All the information is aimed at beginners to help them understand how pulse motors and circuits work.

About 8 months ago my son changed providers and went with a whole new hosting package.

After numerous inquiries by some who tried to access this information on the old site, I have set up a new free hosted site with all the previous pages as they were. I was going to wait till I had time to edit some of the pages to clarify a few talking points, but I might never get around to it, so I've re-posted them all as they were for the time being.

For anyone interested the new address is : http://www.hoptoad.5gbfree.com/ (http://www.hoptoad.5gbfree.com/)

Cheers from Hoptoad.

Hi Hoptoad,

Very good you managed to reupload all the valuable information you collected on Adams (and on kind of pulse) motors.

I have collected some threads on this Forum which the most reference have been made to your ex-link (http://www.totallyamped.net/adams/index.html) (http://www.totallyamped.net/adams/index.html)  and perhaps Stefan Hartmann will have some time to edit out those old links in the old posts to the new one.  Maybe you could write to him to do so?  Perhaps the text of the treads can be editied all at once by instructing the Forum software? (like in MS Word)

If this editing cannot happen due to whatever reason, then you may wish to post a simple message to the very end of those threads to call attention to the change, it is also better than nothing.  (Notice the above link collection is not fully complete, use the Search function for the old link and you get all of them.)

Greetings,  Gyula

I'm interested... :P
Thanks for collecting all that info Hoptoad and making it available.

Made me dig out my last Hall Effect PM, the IttyBittyPm, to fool around with some more.
This one uses a rewound, repurposed sink faucet generator thing that used to power colored LEDs that indicated temperature of the water. I wasn't able to get the original unit apart without breaking the spiderweb-fine wires, so I had to rewind it with more human-sized wire, and it makes a perfect little PM coil and rotor set.
A basic Hall switch (US1881 from SparkFun) does the sensing duty, with a BC337-25 doing the heavy lifting,  in this little motor which runs down to 2 1/2 volts, 20 mA input, well below the published spec of the sensor which is 4 V.
This little puppy actually moves air around, like a tiny fan.

And what an elegant little IttyBittyPm it is too!  Neat soldering BTW. And I haven't seen wire wrap posts used like that for years. Great stuff.... KneeDeep

For some strange reason, my free hosting domain name was changed?

Anyhow - the working link is now http://www.hoptoads.5gbfree.com (http://www.hoptoads.5gbfree.com)

Explanation ?

See reply 593 in the ufo propu thread.  The waveform at the leading edge of the pulse showed positive current and negative voltage.  That gave rise to Negative Energy.

A 5V Input could give a Negative Voltage exceeding -580V.  I treat that as Lead-out energy.  When I placed the Fung Wheel horizontally, the negative voltage was reduced by one third.  I attributed that - the vertically mounted Fung Wheel as leading out one third gravitational energy and two thirds electromagnetic...

*** Very slight change in the pulsing (timing, speed of rotation, positioning, voltage) could produce big changes in waveform.  A bad pulse did not lead-out energy.  It would slow down rotation.  Without the DSO waveform as a guide, how can one be sure that every pulse is good?

Dear Hoptoad,

I glanced your excellent work.  You used many meters.  If you had used the DSO, you would have discovered much more.  The manual pulsing already taught us much via the DSO waveforms.

I don't own any quality meters of any sort. As I pointed out in my site, all measurements were taken with the same 'bad measuring sticks'.
That's because I did not set out to present true power or torque, just comparative measurements and principles of operation.
