Hi All, The guys at http://www.terawatt.com/index.htm (former planetenergy) have starting to build real prototypes not just simulating as before.Looks really impressive

Good question - they seem to have over 600 watts out for less than 200 watts in.  They have UL lab tests and other valid scientific tests.  They say they will be building for business, industrial and residential and all social classes.  Sounds great but where is the product?  What are they waiting for ?  More money?  They seem to have patents.  It frustrates me to see places like this that seem to have figured out a working OU device but just end up sitting on it.

I dug a little deeper and here's their plan:

"Phase One Developed Production Model
– by end of 2010

Phase Two Demo Production Plant
– by end of 2011

Phase Three
Implementing our technology for global energy demand
– an emission free economy
– by 2014

Phase Four
Replacing global fossil fueled power stations with a network of millions of
micro power plants
– by 2016

Development Steps:

1. Development 2009
Preparation of own
Prototyping Facility in Irvine California.

Implementation of first core elements for TWR PR01
with DMC 835V machine from DMG
by October 2009 - March 2010

Implementation of high speed drive with colaboration of SIEMENS
drive technologies
Start: November 2009

2. High Speed and Performance Tests on drive on PR01
by February 2010

3. Implementation of generator core elements developed with DMC 835V (DMG)
by Mai 2010

4. Testing and evaluation of complete System projected by July 2010

Economics:

1. Cheaper than any competitor as there are no inputs and
low maintenance costs
(less than 0.2% of acquisition costs per year).

2. Quick to build, Decentralized, economical, flexible, safe, secure and climate friendly.

3. Micro power stations for homes, offices and industry.

4. Our industry will create more jobs, with cheaper and faster results
than any fossil fuelled energy generation.

5. We will produce electricity
at the point of use so there is no need for large-scale grid connections
and the 10-30% losses in transmission associated with big power plants.

6. Security of supply, since it is independent of fossil fuel.

7. Hydrogen can be produced locally.

8. Emission free

Moreover, the universal availability of our technology, the lightness, flexibility and cheapness of its decentralized distributed generation will enable us to build the most powerful global energy web, where millions of energy producers will be connected
to each other like the world- wide-web. It will therefore create the biggest economic boost in history.

We will create international research centers to improve our technology and reach
mass production.
Small and big Energy producers will engage in the replacement of existing technologies and production streams.
Parented Licensing Contracts will be under permanent examination for updates
and will reflect the needs and demand worldwide."

Sounds great assuming the planet survives the next few years!   Just wish it could available now.

Not trying to be a dead head here but that address comes up being a company
called Exercise and Nutrition Works. Hmmm? Be fun to drop in unexpected and see
what is really there.

If you look at the building carefully you'll see it's a very large building in what is likely an industrial or business park and likely has a number of businesses working out of that address.  Google Earth will give you a fairly good idea of what's there also if you go to ground level viewing.
