I am having difficiulty posting a topic on your website.

Regardless, I am looking for comments on one can overcome the 2nd law in in producing light at ambient temperature.

I am now convinced that the Kelvin-Planck statement of the 2nd law can be violated without violating the 2nd law itself.

You can get around the Kelvin-Planck statement if you can devise a process at ambient temperature that spontaneously produces a VUV photon from the ambient and at the same time drops the temperature to absolute zero. Here a VUV photon is equivalent to work because means can always be devised for the VUV photon to lift a weight. If so, the 2nd Law is not violated because work is produced in the heat exchange from the ambient reservoir and a reservoir at absolute zero.

One way of doing this is to place a number of atoms having thermal kT energy in a QED cavity having an EM resonance in the VUV. At ambient temperature, the atoms emit in the IR. But in the VUV resonant QED cavity, the IR radiation is suppressed.? Suppressed IR radiation means the temperature T tends to absolute zero. But you still have to conserve the EM radiation loss by suppression of IR by a gain elsewhere.? The only place the EM enrgy can be gained is at the resonant VUV frequency of the QED cavity. So the VUV photon is produced spontaneously, that in turn, can produce visible light by photoluminescence.

But you don't have to put the atom in the QED cavity.? You simply make a QED cavity, say a nanoscale spherical cavity, so that the atoms at ambient temperature in the inside surface are within the extent of the QED cavity. This is the familiar penetration depth of the VUV wave that spontaneously stands across the QED cavity.

The process continues because the QED cavity inside surface at absolute zero is lower than the outer surface at ambient temperture, and therefore heat flows into the cold surface. But the temperature is forbidden to rise on the inside surface because the IR radiation associated with the rise in temperature is suppressed.
