But there are so many to choose from! And every time someone else builds one -- and finds it doesn't work -- Akula goes on and makes another, different one!


(that also won't work for anyone but him.....)

So I'm eager to see YOUR working replication of Akula's device, there, Mr. Xhacks. When will you be posting your report?

Thanks for the link and I see there is a schematic too.  And there is a spark gap shown in the upper left corner of the schematic while you agreed in Reply # 2 above what member DRJOHNBULENTATES wrote in the first post: "no need  for spark" . 

So there is or there is no need for a spark gap?  How can I know what else is needed or not?  Understand the dilemma?

You can replace the spark with a big capacitor at HV.
