hi tinman,

The 10kw rating for car is too low if you take a look at hybrid or electric car it's around 40Kw ...58KW.

10KWwould be good for electric racing bike on the cheap.

More than a decade ago i actually purchase electric motor with speed controller with brake sensor for bicycle 42KM/H from China.China is the main producer for Lithium(90% of the word's supply) and neodymium.So it make sense why batteries and electric motor is cheap over there.
This thing never existed in my country back then.Then after 3 years getting the product my gov put a ban on these electric bicycle and current ones are running on lower speed and you got to peddle.

Is that an add on "torque assist" similar to this truly nice idea?

Regarding the "Turxmotor" from the initial claim,
It has not been disclosed how this new motor is able to run in perpetuity
I don't believe they will even be "sold" [some sort of Lease License agreement]

Renault is on deck for the Chassis ......

@magpwr
thx for looking and sharing your experience

I suspect this "Turxmotor" is another animal altogether  8)

Thanks ramset for bringing attention to this new announcment.   I had seen the Turxotor in the past and it would be great if it can really get into production and into a vehicle.  And home power generation.    But I'm sure they will be met with great resistance if they really have what they say.
totoalas,  can you check that link you  posted?   It seems to only be a page with a shock absorber for sale???

LOL - well that was fast - it was fixed before I got through typing.   Thanks totoalas but I don't get your statement about 'no more charging' ?  It says it has a range of 160km and a range extender mentions an additional 400km which is nice but still it would need charging and overall isn't that much more range than some of the current electric cars.
Turxotor will be a whole different deal though if it can really work as stated.   Being that it speeds up under load and uses less power under load I'll bet they've just perfected Koneheads coil shorting technique.

Totoalas
Very handsome car however I think it has more in common with this 75 MPG unlimited Hybrid car from 1979, although this Opel never had to be plugged in [of course it is electric too].
