How to use Magnetic Shielding
« on: September 09, 2013, 09:30:27 PM »
Hello

can someone please tell me of any book/article/blog/etc... that will help me to understand and learn about the following:

1) Usage of magnetic shielding in respect to building PMM.

2) Minimization of the drag caused by mutual attraction of magnets and iron

Thanks everyone in advance.

(Also, are there any other OU forums that are active and worth joining?)

1. It is not possible to shield magnetism in a way that gives rise to a useful result for building PMM. Magnetic lines of force always form closed loops and the field is conservative. This precludes any PMM where the prime mover is magnetism alone from working.

2. Not matter how much you reduce the drag,  a PMM will still not function without an external supply of energy.

Anyone who tells you otherwise is an outright fraud.
