gate question
« on: February 05, 2013, 06:41:02 AM »
I'm curious why no one uses multiple stators to push the one in the, sticky point of, gate passed. Up to 5 can always push 1. Next best is 3 to 1.
If you take a circle and divide it into 72  pieces, every 5 degrees. Then (I'd write a program to do this)  do every possible gate and space combination. With a minimum space of 15 degrees, and a minimum gate of 45 degrees. With every number of gate from 2 up(I did one through 6 gates). example 6 gates 15 degree space 45 degree gate. equals 360 degrees .There's hundreds of setups.
So then take 72 spokes(can do 360 if you did so, with the gate layout). Take one on the sticky part of a gate, mark it. Now delete every one but that one, also in a sticky spot, or a space. Leaving only the one you marked in a sticky point, of the gate. Rotate the spokes 5 degrees. The marked one should be in the void/space now. Delete any other spoke in a sticky point or void. Repeat till into the next gate, then stop. The next spoke before the marked one, should be on the sticky point. The marked one, was just on. Repeat till you get back to the first marked one.
You should have, a mainly one sided number of spokes left. To balance, put a spoke 180 degrees from the remaining spokes. Now remove halve the spokes, but only one side of each 180. Which is to, more evenly balance, the one sided, odd spaced, degree spoke set up. ALL several hundred possibilities will have a mirror image for spokes in the end,(after balancing) on one axes but not the other,(symmetrical). All will need a extra weighted spoke or armacher at the line of symmetry to balance.
Up to 5 can always push 1. Next best is 3 to 1. Curious if 5 can push one though a gate.....? Though I don't care enough to test yet....I am curious, why I have yet to see or hear, someone do this to get every possible gate to space to stator ratio(to 5 degrees)? Even more curious if someone knows the number of gates, and at what degree of space to gate, will allow for a 5 to 1, or even the 3 to 1 push?
To clarify by 3 to 1; I mean that at any point if 1 is stuck 3 are pushing. At any point if 1 is in a space 3 are pushing. 3 are always pushing out of the 4. For 5 to 1 same difference.
