Pendular propulsion...

...let's think about this subject,so present and active ,in the natural world, including our displacements.Best Regards!/Alex

...as a natural method to move, advance in a fluidic medium can be an interesting suggestion to think about. As I see the things, fish tail propulsion, for instance, appears as a particular manner of the pendular propulsion,a dynamic behaviour, between the vibrating, oscillating part of a body-tail system, and the fluidic medium("fulcrum",support, surrounding ,enveloping water) in the state of a "condensed gravity".In the "deeps",all matter, any media, including water has a common inertia frame(the proof is the inertia conditional, dependency). So,it seems, that fish-tail propulsion plays the inertial properties of water. In the far-reaching space, where the unique medium is inertia,we have a possibility to develop this transport method in a plain, basic design:inertia pendular propulsion, playing mechanical pendulum concept. It can be as a fancy,as we see a swimming fish with no visible tail motion...if this one interacts directly with the inertial property of the space, not with water in-between.Take this comment, please ,as my opinion...reflecting about "who invented whom?".All the Bests!/Alex...an Inertial Sailor

...can be a simple to and fro movement ,on the spot,,if you remind the cart mounted pendulum lab demo.
1/a cart can move along a horizontal track
2/from the cart a pendulum is suspended
3/left the pendulum, well holding the cart at rest
4/release the pendulum and the cart ,at the same time
5/the system should oscillate about its center of mass

Now,the proposal can be a simple game, a replication of the  this up demo:

   1/identic
   2/ on the cart we have a Milkovic's double oscillatory system (   www.veljkomilkovic.com/OscilacijeEng.html   )
   3/identic
   4/identic
The subject to discussion can be:
   5/the system should oscillate...symmetrical or asymmetrical   ?!

        All the Bests!   /   Alex

....can be considered an inside aspect of the relation wheel-way.
The wheel concept is so large,as we can get the idea from the surrounding world.
  The way concept,alike...

Any kind of mechanical motion occurs not only on(soil) or in(water, air),but inside an universal fulcrum/inertia ,that asks for constant velocity/impetus.
The "friction" in outer spaceis not important...you can travel endless if you have a certain impetus/quantity of motion vis-a-vis the local system. But anytime, anyway, everywhere we are as inside an unseen conditional fulcrum(constant velocity).
Here,on Earth we must take into account the gravity flow,we are "fixed"(if not in a free fall) on some support/fulcrum.This unseen flux. is fixing us or gives us a push as on a river flow.
So,we are living in a double restrictive(but with many steps of freedom...)fulcrum:gravity and inertia...a double "fixation".
The fulcrum, support can be comprehended as a general manner, not as a something material stuff.
The pendular motion asks ,in a simple line for a mass and an appendage...tail,end piece. It can be an atom,a galaxy or a being.
The pendular impulse, propulsion asks for a certain relation with the medium, but as a basics, with inertia.
The first law of mechanics can develop some miracles in our apperception of statics and dynamics...
The pendular propulsion,we are looking for ,as the next step after walking, swimming, flying manners  of  movement can be a new mode to understant the wheel-way relation.

      All the Bests!  /  Alex
