My 100X probe needed compensation,  so I adjusted it, and now it's OK,  no overrun.
The duty cycle is going all the way down now also,  with no flickering as before.

Shrink your photos please. There is no need for larger than 800 or 1024 pixels wide horizontally.

Beware of the focus pot. On many scopes it is part of the high-voltage circuitry. Yes, open the case and see if the plastic spacer is still connecting the front panel knob with the pot itself. Yes, if it is still connected to the knob but still cannot adjust focus, you can try replacing the pot, but be sure to use the same _type_ and resistance value and power handling value. Be careful! High Voltage Danger!

Hi did any one have a play with making the PCB for the Nnalli device, but be aware of loads of circuit component placing errors and missing components, the problem appears to be all placed around the Tesla end of the device photo enclosed with rings round the offending component placings there is also a diode missing on the driver transistor and i would have thought the zener would be better placed  in the gate output stage..

PS any one got one working yet ?

   TK.
Good to see you posting here again.
Yes, I'll open up the scope and replace the focus pot.  It was working, but now it's not anymore.
.
   Thanks for the advice.

The duty cycle is going all the way down now also,
Notice, that your pulses look like up-pause-down-pause...
This is a different pulse strategy than up-down-pause...

Could this be caused by the 50k pot being mounted backwards?
Any ideas as to what to do about it?
But,  I don't see a pause between the up and the down.
Maybe you can show what it should look like.

No

Any ideas as to what to do about it?
Do not use the TL494  inputs that were intended for varying the dead time between the two push and pull channels.

But,  I don't see a pause between the up and the down.
I do and it's huge

Maybe you can show what it should look like.

PUSH: ____________|‾‾|____________|‾‾|____________|‾‾|____________

PULL:  _______________|‾‾|____________|‾‾|____________|‾‾|_________

versus

PUSH: ____________|‾‾|____________|‾‾|____________|‾‾|____________

PULL:  ____|‾‾|____________|‾‾|____________|‾‾|____________|‾‾|____

The push-pull (up-down) sequence* supports one natural AC cycle of an LC resonant circuit.
Pauses between entire AC cycles are OK

CURRENT: ━━━━━━━━━━━┛‾‾|__┏━━━━━━━━━━━┛‾‾|__┏━━━━━━━━━━━┛‾‾|__┏━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

...but it is unnatural to interrupt one cycle halfway.

* with minimal dead-time between push and pull periods, only to prevent shoot-through current through the push-pull driver

Hi Wesley,

Did I miss that 3rd video of Denis Dniester with the shocking surprise?

My input to the TL goes to pin 8,11, and 12.
Besides that,  there is a 0.1uf MKP X2 between the above mentioned pins and the ground at pin 7.

As I am installing the fet driver circuit now,  I would like to get the huge off signal issue resolved.
And I hope that this is not something wrong with my scope, other than blurry traces.

Hi all ! well i don't know about any of you but i'm still waiting for part 3 of the 3 part serial !

Any way me and the cat have decided to do our own, well here it is with stills to follow. If your wondering just ware the cat is he is hanging from the cam string!

First the circuit fully tuned to coil res of 148 khz

screen shot

The wave form 148khz aprox

The sad part is it only works if the PSU has an earth leakage, so it's not overunity ;)

The earth to the radiator and the 40w 250v lamp lit up !

then the electronics NE555 and 900v mosfet

TK fanks for info, switch on side of probe not very good as easy to chang from X10 to X1, got old probe off  TekTronic fixed X10

Your scopeshot is showing a partial waveform, clipped on top and bottom. There is no telling just how far offscreen the true peaks and baselines are. If you are "really" showing 100v/div, (both scope channel and probe set to 10x) then you may be putting your scope's input circuitry at risk. Note that your inputs are rated Cat I, 300VRMS max, and this must be derated for higher frequencies.

Also, why don't you use the scope's built-in screenshot feature: Put a USB drive into the front panel slot and then press the green button with the printer symbol on it, right underneath the green "help" button. You will get a much better picture that way.Not only will it be perfectly in focus, but also it will show the whole screen, and will produce a file size that is less than 1/3 of what your photo has, with the same 800 pixels wide resolution.

Can your scope upload the screenshot over the Ethernet connection to a network share on a remote computer?
