Wesley,

This is all getting silly. Just ask the guy to show a high res shots of the so-called earth wire connections and all will be revealled.

Silly?  Perhaps he should lick the ground line end, as well. All will be revealed......

Hi Nick,

How's it going with the TL494 push-pull?

Do not think that I sale anything :) This is just copy from Ebay.
but guy has 100% positive rate
and he sold  393 different pieces

Hijacked eBay-Account??

The offer reads: »Item location: London, United Kingdom, Posts to: United Kingdom« but that guy seems to be from Bulgaria. He sold a »Former Kindergarten, Bungalow, near Nova Zagora, Trakia Motorway, Bulgaria« for £5,999.00 and a »Detached Renovated house nr Provadia Varna Bulgaria« for £29,990.00. Strange.

And »Delivery: Varies« of course means, you will get something :) or not. :(

   Happy.
It's going slow,  but steady.  I'm using mostly all recycled components.

Yes, take it steady. Check & double check connections are correct. If possible use an IC holder / socket for your TL494 as changing a chip, if needed, with the type of board you are using is messy!

Yes, the socket IC holder would really help, I'll install it if I need to replace the TL 494 chip.

I'm nearly ready to add the fet drivers, and snubbers, next. All to be installed on that single PCB. No long connection wires.

Nick,

Tip: Test each circuit element as you proceed. Don't just connect everything together and wonder why it doesn't work or a component smokes! Firstly test that the voltage regulator(s) is functioning correctly before connecting power to the TL494. With the TL494 in circuit, test the frequency and duty controls by scoping the outputs for the correct waveforms. Then connect and test the FET drivers and scope for correct waveforms before connecting the FET's and snubbers to supply rail and load.

In addition to the board you are building you will need to regulate duty cycle (5-50%) for the positive and negative pulses individually. I would suggest to add 1 more chip with delay lines while you are still building it.

Cheers!

I'm surprised no one noticed what happened when the metal shunt on the end of the stick, was shorted across the terminals next to one of the light bulbs. One would expect a shower of sparks, killing the whole machine and welding the shunt to the two terminals.......IF there was normal electricity lighting the bulbs.......

But why did the lights come on again and why didnt it short and why were there no sparks...

perhaps because the gas in the bulbs was being ionized and not the filiments?

perhaps because it was not normal electricity?

perhaps it was radiant RF being fed into the bulbs by the Tesla coil in parallel with the low primary and high secondary coil pairs?

perhaps Gerrard was right?

A simple answer, yes or no...

Does the wire length of layers 1 + 2 = 3 + 4 + 5 + 6?
