frankly i have no idea what to expect here, signals sure look clean, and almost no spikes are seen like it should
according to V8Karlo.

No resonance involved also as far as i can see, just nice square wave signals between 10 and 100Khz.

We do transform from DC to AC (push pull) and via the feed back loop across C2 back as DC to the source.

I have 2W input and 650mW across B1, meaning we use 1.350W in the Controller/Push Pull section.


I do expect V8Karlo to comment now on how to improve on / correct this circuit so it matches his expectations.

V8Karlo emphasises spike generation in his text, so I have an inkling that he may have a very poorly constructed circuit generating spiky waveforms and getting false readings on his multi-meter.

Hi Itsu. So approx. efficiency of your test setup is about:
0.65 / 2 x 100 = 32.5%
Now that is seriously poor performance.  :o

yeah, if you include the TL494 and IR2113 power, like it should.
Its also like you mentioned, with feedback the input goes up big time.

Hi i havent got what chip you're using but i just ran a test on a MC34063 switch mode device if I run it with no load I get

 current drawn  5ma     freq 180hz, a pulse width of 10usec and period of 5.4msec
 current drawn 150 ma freq 06khz,  a pulse width of 10usec and period of 10.5usec

So it really depends on your circuit your using and driving

Itsu thanks a lot for the update.
 The low amount of current that returns back, is mostly due to the fact that the total voltage potential across Czero and L1 is lower than what V8Karlos thinks. Circuit presents a steady 12V across eacch one of them which is not true.

Note1: In a similar way of thinking, a capacitor in series with the input voltage will also collect some potential which can be added in series with Czero and L1 (Look attached drawing). I have already tested that in an other device and i collect back the half of the consumed energy over a half of cycle. I'll post more on this later as i am at work right now.

Note2: Push pulls don't look quite the best choice for this teqhnique as it is beter for me to give some time for the energy to go back before we fire again.

I use a pulse overlapping method using six primaries. Three for the positive and three for the negative cycle. Depending on the input frequency  for each of the switches, i control input current. Efficieny goes up as long as more currents pass through the primaries and it is normal as flux leaquage is high. I still didn't go to higher input currents than 2-3A. So in this specific waveform i attached efficienty is not more 40% ;)

My test with v8 q-topology wasn't successful as I said above. I take back just 100mA when my battery pushes 2Amps. So efficiency wasn't raised at all.

As I understood, V8karlos showed just a way and not a ready device as he explained.

Hi Jeg. No, that is not correct. He said the following about his 'Q Device' circuit:
"Most of the output energy is returned to source."
"The Q device is simpler than Zero device and it has feedback which returns good
portion of energy to source while light bulb B1 at same time."

The implication apparently was that it should greatly improve efficiency over powering the bulb directly,
otherwise what would be the use of the circuit if it is less efficient than driving a bulb directly
at the same output power level?

V8Karlo mentions that there should be lots of spikes at the output of the coil,
so you may need to remove the snubber circuits on your PWM to replicate V8Karlo's 
setup, but V8Karlo should be able to clarify about what he was doing to get those spikes.
