Easy to build gravity powered water wheel
« on: July 05, 2012, 06:54:03 AM »
Hi to all... I made this water wheel where the setup is very similar to chas campbell system except ofcourse it is mechanical and its running on itself without any source of input power. The setup is very simple. The water wheel has a cup like on its rim and was filled by water from a hose. The water wheel axel is connected to a big flywheel and to a pulley where its belt is connected to a water pump. The water pump has a hose supplying water to the water wheel. I made a various setup of this and I found that using bigger flywheel where most of its weight is on the rim giving more power output. I tried to connect it to a small generator and it worked powering one 100watt light bulb.
