Paging Rosemarie Ainslie's NERD Team
« on: May 22, 2012, 10:54:43 AM »
The following link is a page I've setup that accepts charitable donations for breast cancer care, and I've kicked it off at £10.

 www.justgiving.com/Sean-Inglis

For every technical member of the NERD team who self-identifies, and who is confirmed by Rosemarie as a member of the team, I'll add another £10, up to a maximum of 5 members.

Identification in this case would involve a real name and a *very* brief (sentence or so) description of qualifications and role. Some link that you are who you say you are would be handy, for instance a Facebook page or a website, but I wouldn't insist on it. If someone wanted to contact me at nerds(at)seani(dot)justemail(dot)net to discuss some other sort of limited disclosure, I'd be happy to listen, and guarantee that I won't make public any details from that route without explicit prior permission.

Over and above that, if the person who self-identifies as the most technically qualified member of the team - or who the team elect as a representative - will join the TK Tar Baby Thread and discuss the power calculations that TK has  been carrying out, *without* the intervention of RA, who is only obscuring matters, I'll add an another £50 donation to the page. Note that isn't to "win" the argument, it's just to engage in discussion without interference, and under your own identity.

And finally, if Rosemarie publicly states that she is happy for the members of her team to engage in this way, I'll add another £20 instantly.

So to recap:

I'll donate another £20 instantly to breast cancer care, just if RA "allows" team members to identify themselves. They themselves may choose not to in the event, but I'll still donate £20 for that a *simple* public statement from her that it's allowed, without weaselling or qualification.

I'll donate another £10 each for up to 5 team members who choose to identify themselves, subject to very modest requirements, but including a real name and brief qualifications

I'll donate another £50 for the elected NERD representative to come to the thread and discuss the power calculations being done *without* being filtered through RA.

Now these aren't large amounts, but they're free donations for a good cause, just for standing behind (or otherwise) the work and some of the conclusions being asserted by RA in public.

Bravo, MrSean2k. You've picked an admirable cause to support, and I'm glad you are making this offer. I sincerely hope that you have to make the full donation amount....

Here's my prediction as to the response you'll get from the Ainslie team of NERDs, attached below.

As always, I am ready to be proven wrong in my prediction.

I hope to find a way to donate it all, one way or another, and I've tried not to make the terms too onerous. Smart money's still on the sound effects :-)

It's remarkable that nobody has posted in support of Ainslie or her claims in a long time, in any thread, much less this one.

Could it be that the NERDS haven't heard of this offer yet?
Could it be that they don't CARE enough about the good cause that would be supported if they showed up for discussion?
Could it be because they don't want their good names sullied by association?

Could it simply be... because they DON'T EXIST?

Anyhow.... bump.

I can understand the NERDs being a bit reticent given the level of scrutiny being applied to these results. Still a bit surprising that nobody is willing to be identified

But none of that stops Rosemary from indicating that she won't oppose a NERD identifying themselves for an instant £20.

Remember the next £20 isn't contingent on someone actually identifying themselves, just RA sanctioning it if it happens.

Could it be because Ainslie is simply wrong and everybody on the planet... EVEN YOU... realises it?

Assuming for the moment that my mental condition is any of your business..... no, I'm just bored. What is your excuse? Are you in love?

i like holding mirrors up for gutless cowardly bully trolls like you to get a glimpse of yourself in... ::) that, and i hate pretentious idiots like you running around spouting off one logical fallacy after another.

Ah, so you're in love, then.

Why then, if you are the almighty arbiter of logic and humility..... are you not focusing on the elephant in the room? Is it easier for you to deal with the few squeaking mice, or are you just afraid that the elephant will sit on you, too, eventually? She will, you know, as soon as you deign to apply to her the same standard you attempt, however feebly and impotently,  to apply to me.

When I am in a professional forum, I speak and act professionally. When I am playing with children in a sandbox, I don't feel the need to keep my top collar button buttoned or speak multisyllabically.  When the wind blows hard, I batten down the hatches and check the tiedowns. When people commit the most egregious acts of intellectual littering right in front of my eyeballs I try to make them clean up after themselves. But the intellectually incontinent rarely do. One hyphenated word consisting of two names : Dunning-Kruger.

there you go again with your ridiculous fallacies... ::)

another red herring... imagine that! man, if i had a penny for every red herring you've tossed out in the last few years i'd be effing rich. but, just to humor you... ::) i said, and i quote "i hate pretentious idiots like you running around spouting off one logical fallacy after another." note the qualifier. i bolded it for you since you seem to have a nasty habit of omitting such things when it suits your fallacious derriere. ;) so, you are saying that you and "the elephant" are similar... interesting development.

funny how that paragraph describes exactly what i've been doing to you for the last couple of years. ::) it's so quaint how you refuse to admit your errors when i confront you with them using your own words. yet, you don't seem to have a problem when others correct you, just me... that's so cute. :)

you're a classic case of the little nerd who never outgrew his inflated 'child' ego... it must have been hard for you getting bullied as a child, troll. :( and then growing up retaining that inflated 'child' ego and still being the nerd that nobody really liked... ooops sorry, i probably brought up some memories you've been trying to suppress. but here is the sick part... being bullied like you were, why in the world would you do that crap to someone else? knowing how you felt when it was done to you? i pity you troll, i really do.

Now you're just projecting your own inadequacies, you miserable motherlorn forsaken troll. There are one or two people who appreciate what I've been doing here, people who appreciate a proper coherent explanation instead of a wholly flocked woolgathering denigrating pastiche of insult and degradation like you always come up with, you crock of soggy cracker crumbs. Unsalted, you are spewful and livid in your putrid underwear, whistling like Rossi-powered teapot, stuck in a mixed metaphor and spinning your wheels like a broken record.

Let you contribute something, anything, except your continual verbal diarrhoea. But you cannot, having no opposable thumbs with which you can even pick your ad hominems out of your abusive noseholes. I fling you off like the green and sticky booger you are, Wilby troll, into the wind of the cold dark night.
