A video of three led lights, red,green and blue which blink, powered by water. No acids,salts or chemicals used. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JRksqMF8GnA&feature=youtu.be

What metals did you use for this battery?

Ordinary tap water or distilled?

Some more details would be nice for people to have a play with this.

I have used several types of water,,all seem to work the same from aqua fina bottled water,,and a few others,,all the way to tap water. No difference that I can tell, they all work. The negative electrode is pure magnesium,,99% pure. The positive is copper, all in the videos. No acids, salts or chemicals used. The point of this type of water cell is since its only water, the electrodes will last ages, its acids,salts and chemicals that erode electrodes fast/faster..Water has a very very very slow erosion process. Just add water when its low, simple as that. Want more power,,use more cells. Endless possibilities..No pollution,,and harmless since there is no acids,,only water.

@stevensrd1

I like the sound of what you've explained here. Can you give us any output measurements (volts/ma)?

@stevensrd1,

If you prevent the water from evaporating, does the water wear-out? By that I mean
do reaction products build up in the water and stop the battery?

Each water cell equals around 1.5v same as regular AA battery. Three water cells measuring at 4.25 volts in series. Resting voltage will rise given time with no load. However the amperage is lower. To get more amperage, one can use more water cells. It all adds same as with batteries in series. The circuits I used such as what I call blinkyblue or blinkycolor,,as listed in my videos on youtube,,originally used 3v button type batteries. I have a watch that used a 3v battery running on a single water cell, this runs the watch perfectly,,but does not light the watches built in backlight. For that it would seem I may need two or three water cells. I am running the watch and a solar rotating stand,,with its solar panels removed of course,,on a single water cell,,meaning both of them connect to one water cell,,the same water cell, at the same time. And it powers them both well, together. The size of the electrodes i use or the size of the water cells is not the issue. It can be made smaller. But I use the electrode sizes I use because even tho it is only water,,given many years the electrodes will eventually erode to the point of no use. But that could be 10 years,, most likely longer given Im using inch diameter electrodes. So the concept is like a regular battery,,but electrodes last way longer given no acids,salts or chemicals used. And I have not tried all possible metals or their combinations, much less the endless possible ways such water cells could be made to work better by shape thereof. But its totally safe,,totally green, and the concept works. I will be running a small radio on water before to long on the live cam, perhaps a week,,maybe less from now, will I need more water cells,,maybe one or two who knows..Its all still in the works, waiting on parts and so forth..Either way over the months to come,,if not for my own amusement even, I will be running more things on water on the live cam. Suppose that about covers the questions previously ask..
