@Conrad
In theory if you have a enough light produced with a little power it would work the solar panel has no cost to make it produce power it is a free energy device as long as there is light.
even a small amount will produce something.

If light is travelling in all directions then it should be possible to have the most surface area to capture light on a solar panel, ideally if you have a sphere with a light in the middle  ;D

Wow! Very nice work!  :)

I like the light boxes. My experiments are a little bit more crude. I use my bath room since it has no lights source in it such as windows to do my testing in. I want to build a box for my 5 watt panels but don't have the time. I don't know if you put something reflective behind the panels? Some panels allow light to travel through them and some of the light is wasted that way so putting something reflective behind the panel might help to bonce some of the light back.

Getting time to do this stuff is always difficult as my workshop is not where I'm living and I have other projects that need my attention
Yes light does travel through my panels a little bit so maybe I will put some more aluminium foil over them if I think I'm getting close,
I have put foil at the top and bottom of my box Hmmm maybe find some solar panels that fit in the top and bottom to maximize everything possible but the cost is an issue as I got these panels for my roof, there are some amazing deals around on big solar panels at the moment.

I won't be winning the OU prize with this setup, There was a moment there for about 10 minutes when the battery voltage didn't dropped which got me excited.

I tried different combinations with the panel's in parallel and in series with the best results wear with two panels in series and then connected together with the other two panels in parallel this manage to get the charging light on the controller to come on.

The efficiency  of the panel's and the light is of course the main reason I failed but I will be keeping my eyes out for new solar and light technology that can be bought off the shelf and then I will have another go.

I also have been working in a similar idea.
I known a way to light a bulb using reactive power. Since reactive power is wattless, any output will be over 100%.

Are you talking about the thing in AC with capacitors and inductors? Do you have more info on how you're trying to do this?

@ all

I got my solar box made too. Its a cardboard box that has a 5 watt panel inside of it. I use a flashlight that runs off a one AA battery or I can use one LED that pokes from the top of the box. I filled the box insides with aluminum foil to and got a increase in power.

There is no doubt what we're doing is impossible, but they said the same thing when man wanted to fly. One or two things need to change if you want this to work. You either need to make the solar panel more efficient or make the LED more efficient. So far I know you can cover the box with aluminum foil to get more power to the LED. I also found that putting magnifying glass on top of the panel will give you more light, its as if the magnifying glass amplifies the light.

Yes, using pulsed Alternating Current, capacitors and inductors.
I'm building it and it will take time for finishing it since some other people are helping me and I'm ordering the components in ebay.
