Has Joe finally nearly acheived his lifes work.
« on: February 10, 2012, 02:04:07 AM »
Hi all i wish i could post the link but im in a public libary and for some reason i cannot, but if you search on youtube you will find joe newman new video claiming he has finally acheived perpetual motion ( when infact he has not) he is running big eureka off batteries and connected to big eureka is a generator which is the feeding the batteries, and in this demonstration after running it for an hour the battery voltage was higher than before the demonstration, after the hour he disconnects the batteries and the motor eventually dies, now in the video he claims what he needs to do is put a clutch in the system to step up the speed and voltage of the generator then it should run by itself, i am assuming he means so he can install gears to step the speed up.
What i wish to know from anyone reading who has engerneiring skills is how long should it take for him to be able to do this giving him a fair margin of time, i think by then we should know weather or not he will ever be able to take the batteries out of the system and have a completly self running device.

Sounds like typical joey newman to me.  We don't know what the RPM vs Torque
Energy output curves are for the generator so we don't know what a change to
the RPM input to generator will actually do. Gearing will not change the energy
input available to the generator! except through those efficiency curves.

Also, imagine for a moment that the energy gain comes not from where he says it
does but something that is happening in the batteries. Careful consideration will
provide evidence that he doesn't know what he is doing. And, that is not a good
basis for a positive prediction of his future success.
