The iron cross shaped rotor is attracted with the force of 8 magnets pulling. The transfer of the #2 ring magnets to the rotor so it can go into repulsion mode can only be shown in an animation. I will try to find a way to get one done. Additional rotated view of design being drawn tonight.

Is Situation B not an equilibrium? Would it not be quite hard to get back to situation A? the inner magnets won't come off the rotor, and first it needs to turn 45º against repulsion anyway.
I may be misunderstanding or missing something.
