During "The Twelfth Five-Year-Plan", solar thermal production is expected to increase 20 percent than “The Eleventh Five-Year-Plan” in China.
According to the China Securities Journal which reported on April 14, Luo Zhentao, director of China Association of Rural Energy Industry, China Association of Solar Energy Thermal Application, said that during "The Twelfth Five-Year-Plan", solar thermal production is expected to increase 20 percent than “The Eleventh Five-Year-Plan” in China's solar thermal industry.
China has a huge production and usage of solar water heater. The data shows that in 2010, the annual yield of solar water heater is about 4900 square meters in China, accounting for 80% of world’s output, sales of about 73.5 billion RMB, with exporting of about $ 250milion.
For the goals of China's solar thermal industry during "The Twelfth Five-Year-Plan", it is expected to achieve a 20% output than “The Eleventh Five-Year-Plan”. Even there is an optimistic view that it can reach 25%. It is predicted that by 2020 the annual energy demand in China is about 5 billion tons of coal, during which 15% is non-fossil energy, solar thermal application accounts for 16% of non-fossil energy, 2.4%of the total energy application.
In respect to the future development of China's solar thermal utilization industry, Mr. Luo Zhengtao suggested that China's solar thermal utilization industry should set down the strategic target in national new energy construction system, then offer the Preferable Tax policy in order to list the solar water heater into “Policy System for Promoting Energy-Saving Buildings in China”. In additional to cultivate 5-10 major backbones enterprises whose production can reach to 4 million square meters in order to promote industrial escalation, encouraging the major facility like automatic production line of glass vacuum tubes and flat continuous coating equipment
