Thanks for this clarifying article. Yesterday there was a conference on the web - I would like to know if the results from the huge laser interferometer in italy somehow correlate with this. They should have seen if there is any difference in light speed at different angles to the Earths rotation.
If the results are different in different directions this would confirm the existence of the ether or some other kind of medium thru which the particles have to go. Only if that is true can we think about "longitudinal waves" of electricity because as far as I have understood these presume the existence of the ether....anyone confirm?

I doubt the rotation of the earth is affecting the measurements with a difference of several meters within 60ns. Also it should been taken into account already when they calculated the speed.

Great discovery anyways :)

welcome albert

i believe Dayton Miller's results (circa 1920?) already confirm sufficient presence of some background 'reference frame' to establish relative movement of earth (& hence Solar system) towards a particular constellation

i have also seen reference to some work by S Marinov which appears to give supporting evidence to one or more of these parameters

iirc the results also lend credence to the 'frame-dragging' scenario

To understand that something goes speedy as light, You don't need 10^9 EUR "cheap" LHC. It is enough to look into sky and ask single question: with what all this stars are bound that they dont fall on our heads?
And this is really all.
