                            MAGNETIC OVERBALANCING WHEEL

Before I describe the workings of this device, there is something you should bare in mind,
which is NOT  known by the average 'Jo'!  If two magnets are brought together with the same
poles (N-N, or, S-S) facing each other ------------- they will repel ----------- bet you knew that?
But, if a metal strip (preferably soft-iron), is placed between these two 'like' poles, at a
certain distance, (trial, and error), they will AT FIRST repel, then ATTRACT!  It stands to reason,
that there MUST be a certain distance, where the two 'like' poles, both repel, AND attract ----- at
the same time!. I've tried this out for myself, it works!

This design, uses only ONE magnet on either side of the soft-iron strip, to create a
'dead-zone'.  The area between each of these magnets and the soft-iron strip, IS the 'dead-zone'.
Each of these magnets repel, AND attract each other, because they are of the same polarity,
when they are near the soft-iron strip.
It makes NO difference WHAT pair of poles are used (north, or south), so long as they
are a 'pair' ------------- N-N, or, S-S.
The soft-iron 'strip', goes slightly further round the  outside of the inner magnets, by
one magnet(?).  That means, the one 'extra' magnet near that 'strip', is ATTRACTED
to it, and 'gives' ALL(?) its magnetic flux to it, (shaded yellow).  This means, THIS magnet,
cannot inter-react with any other magnet ----- or vice-versa.  It can still move freely, over the
soft-iron strip though. (They don't touch!)

the two shaded magnets, can be seen as they create the 'dead-zone'.  The magnets above these shaded
magnets, REPEL their oposite magnet, and, to a lesser degree, so do the magnets above THEM!
The vertical magnets are stationary!
Please refer to the drawing, at all times.

If the two magnets, (which take up the length of the soft-iron core), on the immediate left of the
soft-iron strip, produce a force equal to TWO(2) magnets repeling the single magnet (shaded, on the
right-hand side of the soft-iron strip --------- bottom of 'upright' stack), do not despair -------
use TWO magnets on the bottom of this stack!
The second magnet bellow the shaded left-hand magnet --------------- is 'free', and all the others
bellow IT.  This is because this magnets' magnetic flux, cannot interfere with the flux, of any other
magnet.  Therfore, it cannot react.   But, as the wheel turns, this particular magnet, WILL eventualy be
'in range' of the soft-iron strip, where ITS flux, will be 'absorbed'!

Sorry about the title of this design ------- just a mess up!  But I DO take credit for this
I must point out though, the title is STILL wrong it's:  MAGNETICALY ASSISTED ROTATING WHEEL!
Hope it doesn't 'put you off' too much?
