simple magnetic motor ?
Think stefan has shown this before.

another one, not into magnets myself but wonder why people in here do
not try replicating them.

Quite simply because those 'motors' are fakes. This guy posts simular videos at a regular intervals.

A real magnet motor should start by itself and probably should also constantly accelerate - just as Tom said - to blinding speed.

Anyway, I think I found some sort of configuration that would very well resemble Tom's clues (I think in all aspects). Very, very simple design. If it was that simple I don't think it would be patentable. You cannot patent a concept, idea but only a device. So if you saw only one working device using this concept, you would build a different one by yourself. I desgined two of such devices in 5 minutes time ;] Completely different but using the same principle. Two patents would be granted I think. But... things are always beautiful on the paper - must build one and test first... and probably fail as usually <lol>

if you guys search 6,000 rpm magnetic motor, you'll see one I've wondered about.
not on a pc right now so can't post a link.
the set's his on machinist blocks and shows everytbing, just wonder if there is air near ny.
one thing I've wonderec if might work is using lead shields to control when repulsion happens.

Hey Johnny874 or Jim or whatever name you are using this week.

I am getting very tired of your crap!!.  You need to stop this nonsense now.  If you do not quit making up stuff about me...perhaps you should be moderated?  Now, knock it off!!!  I am not kidding you.

  @Pirate88719,
This is where you and TinselKoala should've been posting these thoughts.
>>   Quote from: TinselKoala on August 11, 2012, 03:36:13 PM<blockquote>Well, you just blew any chance of patenting that scheme, if that was your intention, by publishing your claims and drawings publicly.

http://www.uspto.gov/web/offices/pac/mpep/documents/appxl_35_U_S_C_102.htm

You will have to complete and file a NONprovisional patent application within one year from today or you cannot patent it at all. And that's not even considering whether the patent will be granted.
You will also have to demonstrate that your invention is New, Useful, and hasn't been demonstrated before by someone else. Good luck.
</blockquote>

TK:

Exactly correct, from what I know.  I love the folks that post stuff on OU and then get help from smart guys like you....and then...remove all videos and posts saying they are going for the patent now.  A long time ago a very expensive patent attorney assured me it does not work that way.

@All, notice how TK contradicts himself in the same post ?
>> just blew any chance of patenting that scheme, if that was your intention, by publishing your claims and drawings publicly.
and
You will have to complete and file a NONprovisional patent application within one year from today  <<

Notice how those 2 statements say completely opposite things.
Of course, I posted a quote from the USPTO stating that publication can protect an inventors patent rights for one year. I do take my time to research material before posting. Have seen to much disinformation posted over the years by people who can't pull a quick search.
It is possible the reason the patent office allows this is for the purposes that forums like this is used for. to discuss and improve upon the design of an invention. Also, some people when making new discoveries (think universities) do publish their work and do still patent that new drug or other invention that has come through research. Why some people go to college. They get funding and have very good environments to work in. As a result, the university may wish to publish the work for the recognition the school would recieve from it. After all, a person doing research at a university or college would be a part of the faculty. And for having their research funded while they are paid staff, they also get the patent rights to start their own new business. But I am sure everyone is aware of such things.
I think industry does it to a lesser standard as they wish to protect proprietary information which is knowledge of the specific manufacturing process. An example of this is everyone can know what is in coca - cola and pepsi but what they make would not taste the same as the process of manufacture would help to develop the taste of their beverage.

edited to add; if you look at the times pirate88719 posted, he posted this first and then answered the one in this thread.
probably why people find posting in OU difficult, that is those working on something. It's nothing but a game to some people.
And if Tom does have something, it might be in his best interest not to make it known if he thinks it is something that somebody might be able to modify and come up with their own invention.
With me, I have advanced someone else's work which makes what I have realized a new invention. It is a part of life I guess. A risk that inventor's will always be exposed to. Might as well enjoy what you have while the chance is there. Something I've hoped to be able to do.

I am talking about this stuff above, AND the two posts following that you deleted.  Any more of this and I will take action.

Duh!  Does it say "Moderator" next to my name?  No?  Really?  Then, I guess that means I am not a moderator on this topic.  So, now you are saying that I deleted your posts?  I warned you for the last time...

  Bill,
 are you a moderator at overunity.com ?
I can't delete posts like you keep accusing me of.
maybe you could post some work ?
I've never seen you have a thought of your own.

Gee "Johnny"...AKA "Jim"  Why not check out all 53 of my youtube videos which all have links on here in different topic areas?  I built all of those devices and did not just talk about them like you do.  So, be careful here....

And, once again, your assumption is incorrect...i am NOT a moderator here on OU.  I am a moderator on 2 different topic areas.  If you only knew how the software worked...or cared to learned anything...since I have told you countless times, but...alsas...i am dealing with someone that does not want to learn anything.  Every post you make tells us this loud and clear.

Bill

PS  How many times have you been banned from this site?  I have lost count.  Was it because everyone here was jealous of your great ideas?  No, it was because you personally attacked folks that dared to comment on your crazy ideas...some actually have tried to help you...but...no, you just resort to personal insults.  I am going to forward all of your posts to Stefan...and then...you might have to come back here using YET another alias.

OK, here is an original idea...you sir, are an idiot.  I also mean that in the most direct usage of the term.  Idiot.  Look it up if you do not know what it means, which, you probably do not.

  Bill,
If people like Tom bother you, not sure why you post it in a thread where I am posting an idea I have for my own invention.
The reality is, someone posting a possible invention puts themzelf at risk of someone else trying to claim they helped invent and should also have rights to the patent.
This is one of the reasons I said that if other people build my design, the patent rights would go to charity. A simple way to keep greed out of it.

I do NOT, and NEVER have believed in patents.  They are not worth the money, and from what my attorneys have told me...you have to be able to defend EVERY challenge, the average of which is 1 million dollars...and, if you can only defend one challenge, and not three....you just gave up your patent.  The best way is to have an idea...build it...and go from there.

Patents are for the big companies with plenty of money to spend defending them.
